For those that missed the Ebay Flash Sale on the Samsung EVO Plus and the Prime deal on the WD Black SN750.

Some good reviews and some mixed ones. Not a bad option at this price.

  • Got one. Thanks

  • missed out on the wd and samsung 1tb for my new build.
Would this one be worth getting for a 3080 5800x build?
I was looking at wd sn750, adata or samsung originally

    • The difference in game is not really as big as the 20% price difference through most models as once the game is loaded into memory there is not much the SSD does, it really is about Windows Boot time and access for file copies. You can't really go wrong with anything above 1500MB/s.

It comes down to what you want to pay. I am really annoyed I missed out on the Kingston for $137 which has 2200MB/s sequential, I don't want to buy Western Digital after the SMR branding scandal for WD Red drives. I don't trust them. This Crucial P5 is at 3400MB/s and while its about 30% faster on paper in real world it wont be that much.

There is a promotion to get $10 off the Kingston if ordered through the Amazon app.

      That makes it $148.

If you save $30-$40 here its $30-$40 you can spend on a better graphics card which is the most important for gaming but it looks like you have already chosen a 3080 by the looks.

The other thing I look for is a 5 year warranty and both the P5 and Kingston drives have those.
