I want to listen to music offline from a Wear OS smarthwatch without using the Play Music app. Anyone use apps that transfer mp3s/music to the watch for offline listening?

Merged from Smartwatch - running with music (Misfit Vapor 2 / Amazfit Stratos)
I'm finding the music stutters a fair bit when running with the Misfit Vapor 2. I've tried different music apps (Google Play & NavMusic) and different GPS apps (Strava and Google Fit) with the same result. I'm thinking that the watch just doesn't have the grunt to handle music and GPS, ie music plays fine until I open the running app and it starts to acquire the GPS signal.
I think I'll try the Amazfit Stratos. Anyone have any issues with playing music and using the GPS on the Stratos?
