    I bought a very similar looking one from amazon the other day. Assuming same OEM, yes works that way. First you need to plug in power source and HDMI to the adaptor, then finally the adaptor to your already on Switch. Mine used to work using the Lenovo yoga power brick for the first few days. Now only works when I use the official Switch power brick so that's a bit inconvenient.

  Like most USB C things like this, it is 4k @ 30hz. Which is fine for most movies and tv which is below 30hz. But iPad games are 60hz, and you'll want your browsing and other apps in 60hz probably. Just be aware that it'll look kind of laggy.

    Can confirm it looks laggy. One of our dock setups at work has a 4k monitor - I have a similar adapter and hate it, to the point where I bought this adapter from Kmart to use there instead so that I can still get 60hz by limiting it to 1080p.

      Apple sell an adapter that manages to squeeze 4K @ 60hz, pass through power, and a USB 3 port into one USB c adapter. It’ll cost you though.

        I did see that, not prepared to drop $99 on a 3-port adapter though lol. I don't really do anything on my laptop that needs 4k at all, let alone at 60hz, so the cheaper 1080p option gets me by :)

  I bought a couple of these and had problems with both.

  In the end I purchased the official Apple Multiport Adapter as I just don't need flaky when it comes to work.
