Teeth Whitening at Home - Help

Hello there good people just curious if anybody has any good experiences with the stuff available at chemists or supermarkets?

I'm not too fussy but I have a sister who obviously is very particular and she actually paid $200 for professional teeth whitening; I'm not sure I want to do that.

I've seen some packs at shops where you put gel into like a mouth guard or something???? Not sure

Just asking if anybody can give me some ideas products to try out that actually worked for you???

Teeth whitening.

Also want to get back into the dating game so yeah thank you

Teeth are naturally off white / yellow not the pure white look that seems so desirable these days.

liesss! Its the from people brushing their teeth everyday with toothpaste….those that dont brush their teeth every day get yellow, brown and even black holed teeth…..

Remember kids, always brush your teeth twice a day, once in the morning and once before sleep so u get nice shiny white teeth!

      • Completely untrue. It's linked to diet. Plus as you age, your teeth will naturally become more yellow.

        • nooooo i dont want to get old!

Home remedy - Try mixture of equal parts of baking soda and water and gently brush on teeths. It works!
Dont overdo. Probably once a week.

I use Colgate Optic White tooth paste, works well imo

    • Does it really make a difference??

      • Over a long period of time, it might move you a shade or two lighter. They're more effective as something to maintain whiteness after professional whitening rather than something to get your teeth lighter in shade from the get go.

    • I'll give it a go mate

  • Do what Trump suggested - use bleach.

Bonus; it'll fix more than yellow teeth.

Anecdotally I have heard that whitening procedures can leave your teeth with extra sensitivity. As someone who suffers from sensitivity I've always avoided it because of that.

    • I found that the case. I've got one really large back filling, after 4 days of Colgate Optic White, it would randomly feel like someone was trying to stick a needle into it. I went back to Colgate charcoal toothpaste and it stopped instantly. I don't think the hydrogen peroxide in the Optic White was working for me.

    • That's not correct post treatment. During working the bleach may cause some pain due to the hydrogen peroxide, however that will depend on genetic factors, length of treatment time, formula concentration and if there is spillage on the gums.

If you use a generic tray, the treatment won't be as good as the tray won't be perfectly fitted to your whole mouth, so uneven coverage. Plus there will be a big saliva build up. And increased chance of spillage onto your gums.

A custom fitted tray from your dentist is the best, to ensure even whitening. It's reusable in the future… but yes, it costs more.

  • I think OP, is looking for the OzB way to whitening teeth. I don’t recall deals on these :( . Sorry can’t help, anyone else?
