hey mate, house/robins kitchen etc are a bit of a scam shop. they always have a sale 80% off, but the RRP are completely meaningless as what they sell are their own brands and you can't buy them elsewhere, so don't go too silly buying stuff thinking it's an awesome deal.

Anyway I did buy a baccarat santoku knife and its quite sharp, but needs regular sharpening.

      • ewwwww pass - fugly

but might be your taste :)

They're like permanetely on-sale since forever, and their discounted prices are normal elsewhere.
Also, get at least the Global knives.

only bought the 1 knife, at $25 it's not too bad. did the paper test out of the box and it was sharp enough to cut but no where near as good as my Tojiro chefs knife i bought recently.

Assume i can sharpen with the Tojiro Whetstone when needed?

      • Yes, can.

The stone is worth more than the knife though

ACCC should need to have a look into such poor practices.

      • They won't unless people complain. The more people complain the more they rise up the list for a look in.

        • Yes but why don't people complain then.

  • Got one of these and they work a charm.

  • It's it really 80% off if it's always on sale for 80% off?
