Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - $59.99 - Preorder Deal

70

Very excited for this release and this is the cheapest pre-order that I have seen so far with sydney pickup.

Note this is not the limited edition version which comes with a music CD and a gold wiimote.

    • haha, I clicked on this deal with the intention of posting that very link but you had beaten me to it. Gotta love this site :)

      • :) I went a little nutty and bought the limited edition set back when it was cheaper. I like the Zelda games a little too much I think. :/

        • Well it scored 10/10 on IGN so I think that it deserves your love :)

        • -4

Ign? Post a credible review score please

Edit: neg my comment all you like, ign = joke

        • I agree with you Tal, while this game will undoubtedly be awesome, and I've already got mine pre-ordered. IGN is complete and utter TRASH.

If you want some laughs, go to youtube and check the IGN video for BF3 glitch abuse.
The fuckwits posted a video showing people how to exploit in the game, it got negged to oblivion and they deserve the poor reputation they have.

Cheaper still. After VAT removal and adding postage converts to ~$46.50 Au.

      • Do they actually remove VAT? Very few places do (to be honest, I only know of amazon.co.uk that does it).

Also, there are export restrictions on, at least, the limited edition version of this.

Aaand… is shipping to Australia free?

        • my experience with dvd.co.uk is that they do not remove vat. last time i ordered from them shipping was 1.39 pounds

        • Yep, they remove VAT prices > £18.

          DVD.co.uk seem to ignore restrictions.

And.. not free, shipping is £1.39 for this item (is that for most reg stuff, though some bulkier stuff is more expensive - varies; will show in first post basket checkout stage). But already factored into price calculated above. They were actually a pound or two cheaper still when i pre-ordered it a couple of weeks back.

        • IF they didn't remove VAT Wansmith, they should have (happens automatically in checkout when shipping to Aus address, so be unusual if they didn't). Unless of course your item was sub 18 pounds, in which case they're not supposed to.

  • yeah that is where i buy most of my games but would like sydney pickup for this one so i can get to it straight away. What are your experiences with delivery times from ozgameshop?

    • I expect to get it around the first week or December. I'll see more definitely as I ordered a few other things and they're coming as separate orders but that's my expectation.

    • Pretty much every pre-order I have done through them (which is about 8 so far) has arrived within a week of the release date. They tend to ship the day before the UK release date and take about 7 days to arrive.

    • Takes a week for me. You should remember that the game releases 1 week earlier in the UK so you should receive it by release day.

  • Hmmm, where can I get a cheap Wiimote Plus from?

    • yeah good question, at this stage I am planning on ordering the limited edition because I would like a wiimote plus (instead of having to use the clip on thing on the original wii motes) and it will also carry over to the Wii U. anyone know of a cheap place to buy the limited edition version on release date?

      • dvd.co.uk is by far the cheapest if they'll export it and remove the VAT.

If not then ozgameshop. Not the cheapest by far at $95 but they'll export and are still cheaper than aussie stores (by $10-$15).

      • You can get it at zavvi

        http://www.zavvi.com/games/platforms/nintendo-wii/legend-of-…

Just use your 5 pounds off 45 discount code on the day it's released.

I'm not sure you can still do this but vouchers were working with preorders @ thehut

Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Limited Edition Bundle - Wii

        Preorder now £49.85 1 £0.00 £44.85
Discount: Your discount has been applied. -£5.00

        • Yep, that'd be the cheapest option (plus another pound shipping). After VAT removal, but with shipping (~6 pounds on this 'non-standard size' item), Dvd.co.uk comes out about a pound and a half dearer. Unless of course you don't have or have used Zavvi discount code already, in which case DVD.co.uk 3/3.5 pounds cheaper. But yeah, those are two best international options i'm come across.

ed: Should add, though, not knocking this deal. $60 is damn good deal for local product and convenience of getting it sooner if international Christmas month delays are concern (or if simply too eager to wait.)

      • I'm a bit late to this post but from what I've seen Amazon has it for £47.90, which is reasonably close to the Zavvi price.

        http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005KJLAOQ/ref=s9_simh_gw…

        • Tried before. Wouldn't deliver to Oz. :(

        • dvd.co.uk is £47.65 after VAT removal and including delivery.

  • Anyone know if the mwave version is Australian stock? I have OCD or something when it comes to games and it feels "fake" unless its the Australian version, even if it still works from Europe.

    • I cannot say for sure however the list price of their games corresponds with the Australian RRP so i would say that it is highly likely that they sell the local Australian version and not the UK one. Also under the support tab on the product page the details of Nintendo Australia are given. And the skyward sword release date corresponds with the Australian release date: http://www.mwave.com.au/gaming.asp?status=pre.

  • I bought my Wii purely for the Zelda franchise. The best Zelda game EVER they proclaim and coupled with a 40 hour adventure I'm beyond excited.

  • OMG a good Wii game! Good price though, considering how some publishers + retailers still stick us with $90-$100 release prices despite the recent value of the dollar. Good incentive to finally play the first one on the Wii :)

  • I emailed them and they got back to me faster than i expected, its Euro stock man, unless the guy misunderstood my question. either way im not risking it, i know its still the same PAL game and it'll work but what can i say, we all have our issues lol.

  • I noticed that this deal has expired, but I found similar via gamecafe.com.au: $59 (including free, trackable standard delivery from Melbourne, Victoria) on mygames.com.au. It isn't the limited edition either, but you can contact them and see if they have the Wii Motion Plus attachment in stock?
Just ordered one myself via express, and expect to receive it sometime tomorrow~
