    get ready for diabetes

    • standing by, president sir.

    • Its actually not that bad, its 1620kJ per 100. Typical snacks runs at about 2000kJ, e.g. BBQ Shapes. Where you are pretty much just swapping sugar for fat.

      • +1

A serving of 2 is 36g of sugar, I'd say that's pretty damn bad

        • Look at all the snack foods out there, they all average around the 2k mark. This one ain't particularly bad. Just average.

          • +1

@dyziplen: He's looking at the sugar not the energy/kJ.

            • -4

@theknight27: Its all energy in the end. Carbs, sugars, fats, while different, all ends up as fat on your body if you incoming energy exceed outgoing.

              • +2

@dyziplen: Big difference is that sugar doesn't satisfy your hunger for long. Plus your blood sugar level quickly spikes then drops and you feel like crap.

                • @tout va bien: How much sugar are you consuming to make that an issue? You get roughly 9k a day, two of these is 1.5k, how much other sugary items do you have in a day without exceeding 9k? Or don't you eat anything else?

      • I thought shapes were supposedly "healthier" because it's baked, not fried…(at least that's what it claims on the box)

        • +4

Since the 90s there's been a big stigma that fat = bad, which ironically caused the obesity epidemic to skyrocket since they replaced everything with carbs which aren't as satiating as fats, so you'd eat more.

  • thanks bought 1 to try… :)

Another Kellogg's product that can be consumed one-handed. Dr. John must be spinning in his grave right now (but obviously very carefully to ensure there's no unwanted friction against certain parts of the body).

    • woosh….
      Curious what the context is…

          mind blown….. lmao

        • What’s the wonder food to curb OzBargain (buy first think usage later)… what will they think of next… wait that’s what keeps the “economy” going.

  • +1

I must try to resist this one

    • Resistance is futile.

      • You're right, one is better than none

        • you can't have none, without "one"

  • +1

"Filled with even more choc flavour – what more could you ask for" a dangerous question to ask on ozbargain

  • You're saying that if I buy 16 boxes I can qualify for FREE shipping?

    BARGAIN.

Yesterday I made a decision to cut down on sugar to lose some weight. Ordered 2 boxes.

These are pretty gross imho. Not very picky usually when it comes to confectionary but these felt like I was eating cardboard with off tasting chocolate frosting.

    • You can't say that unless you've actually tried eating a cardboard with chocolate frosting

    • +1

There's better versions of the pop-tart concept but they dont sell them outside the US :(

    • +1

I bought a box a while back to see what the hype was about, and I can confirm, they're disgusting. I don't have high hopes, but I'd still be keen to try one of the other flavours. Maybe cherry or strawberry tastes ok.

  • Huh, i didn't even realise you could buy these outside of America.

    • +7

I'm pretty sure I first saw these on the shelves of Coles about two decades ago.

      • +1

        Woolies too

      • I must have been too busy making a beeline for Nutrigrain and Coco Pops to notice them lol

    • Cheap as Chips sells them

  • +1

    Are they mouldy?

    • Nah they'll last well beyond a nuclear war.

Poptarts & Spam are smart to keep on hand - in the case 2020 will get any more worse than it already is.

      • The reviews on Amazon don't agree.

  • Thanks OP.
    Good price. Ordered one.

  • Recipe suggestion on the side box is for Ice cream Pop Tarts, if they couldn't be any worse for you, they have found a way. Well Played Kellogs

  • Ordered one just cuz. Thanx OP

  • +1

We need different flavors in Australia to buy.

$18 for a box of Smores Pop-Tarts off eBay is just too damn high.

  • I thought about buying these and then read the ingredients….
How they make the chocolate filling is disgusting.
But for anyone who want's to buy and can't wait it seems to be $2.50 this week at Coles. (atleast in Victoria.)

  • Reallllly yummy with ice-cream

  • Thanks OP!

  • Are these any good?

    • it's worth $2.50 to find out
