Ori & The Will of the Wisps

Two excellent action-adventure-platformers (Metroidvanias) that were originally for the Xbox and digitally on the Switch is now coming in Physical format from iam8bit. It might not be as amazing as the collector's edition but it's way more affordable.

As always with Amazon, free shipping for $39+ order and no paying outright until the game is shipped, which releases on December 8th.

That seems really expensive? Will of the Wisps is $45 on eshop and the Blind Forest is $30.
I want physical too but this is a lot for each game. I wish both were in the same package for this price

      This.
Thought it was a combo pack for $66 at first but damn.

  • Its not really a limited game so i am not sure why you would want to pre order it. Just want for it to come out and go on sale.

  • I have both the Blind Forest and the definitive edition on Steam and I’m still waiting for the sale of The Will of Wisps to complete the collection.

I think the game is pretty good for $20-$30 and I’m not paying over $60 for it.

    • I wouldn't know what to value at but the sequel is much better than the first imo

  • Awesome games, played on gamepass

  • Very, very good games (particularly for casual gamers) - we picked these up via game pass and this alone justified the pass.

I love that they have a range of difficulties! So many metroidvanias have a great story but lock out huge numbers of gamers with being too hard, like Hollow Knight

    Free on game pass.. NEXT!

This is on Switch smart guy.

      • -8

Doesn't matter.. quite enjoying it in 4k tbh.

You're quite the angry game consumer it seems.

          • @Faro: Most xbots are.

            • @El Psy Kongroo: Don't make it into that sort of thing. Everyone in these comments plays games, we all have our favourite or preferred platforms. Don't criticise users of other platforms just because of the box they use to play games. It's the attitude of implied superiority here that concerns me more than anything.

I can't believe they're pricing the first game THAT high.

Even for the second game it's too much.

It really should be the price for the collection.

At least I know now that I'll be able to pick them up from the bargain bin for $20, $25 respectively. I'm patient.

Yeah it's crap isn't it.. Nintendo sucks.

      • +4

You realise Nintendo doesn't set the price, right?

        Back to your Xbox.

        • -5

Thanks.. I love game pass, when is Nintendo's version coming out? Oh wait..

          Enjoy your $140 Ori.

There's a nintendo tax but this is a Microsoft decision.

The ins and outs get a bit weird with all the developers, publishers etc but I'm pretty sure it's MS.

        • +1

I literally had this conversation with Combo64 a day or two ago and he kept citing articles from 20-30 years ago about why Nintendo are evil and insisted they're responsible for releasing third party games that they don't develop such as Burnout Paradise.

  • This seems to be a bit weird with the publisher being Iam8bit rather than Microsoft or Xbox Game Studios.

Could hint to an explanation regarding the high prices?

    • Nothing weird about it. All Switch games start off high priced, extremely normal. Gotta wait for sales.

MS wanted to make the switch look expensive.. With plausible deniability :p so they used a sockpuppet.
