OK everybody, today we are looking at water tanks, more specifically the slimmer versions that can fit in between the side wall of a house and the fence (none of the massive round cylinders please)
Rules are they can't be more than 1.25m wide, they have to be more than 1000L in each unit, and the minimum spend to get a good deal can't be more than $2K. Also no concrete or those plastic IBCs, and made in australia for warranty purposes adds points.
When I first started looking at getting a tank for the laundry/toilet in melb, I had already sorta settled on a slimline tankworks 4000L. Metal, looked nice. only 80cm wide and was $1990 (49.75c per litre)
The pretty standard plastic equivalent was $1500 (37.5c a lite)
Looking a little more, I found you could get a plastic slim tank, 4000L for $1250 delivered (.3125c a litre)
Finally, after looking through a whirlpool thread, I checked ebay. For $1529, you can get 8400 litres over 4 cyclinders (1.2m diameter) for $1529 with delivery (.182c a litre). Its not a cheap import either, its made not too far away and has a 10 year warranty.
The big round ones you see on farms and such usually hang around 10c a litre, so 18c for a slim tank (not to mention over several containers) is very competitive.
Only question is, can anybody beat it? (18c a litre)
can you send me link, very interested in getting one.
