Anyone have any feedback to how they compared to Mr Chen's and KB?

For gyoza, out of the three I prefer KB first, Aldi second and Chen last. Aldi's one has thicker skin & less fillings than KB.

I respectfully disagree. For the people who appreciates good dumplings, maybe give this one a miss. KB's or Mr Chen is the way to go.

I think Chen steamed products are great. But for pan fried options, KB or Aldi has better skin IMHO. Filling wise, Aldi has more flour & onions mix than prawn so they taste more savoury, as opposed to KB or Chen. My priority for gyoza is nice crispy skin, fillings second.

Unless the other two on half off sale, I still prefer Aldi just because you can get it year round with this price.

I agree, if I can get KBs for the same price I'd choose them but I don't find Aldi far behind.

        • Yeah KB is consistently great, I wouldn't even mind paying full price, Chen gyozad can be hit or miss (they are tinier than KB or Aldi ones too)

Chen steamed products are great, I usually stock on them when they're 50 off.

    • I found them almost identical to KB's. I don't think I've had Mr Chen's before sorry.

How many of you read "Urban Eats" as Uber Eats"?

    • +6

That $7.99 would be just the delivery price.

    • I sure did!

  • Why would a dumpling brand be “Urban Eats”??

    • +2

Maybe because "Regional Eats" would sound horrible.

    • I think it is the way Aldi brands their own line of products to give people an impression it is a common/logo/popular brand they may have seen elsewhere before. Unless you are a “hardcore” OzBargainer, then you’ll be able to tell it is a “knock off” right away.

  • These are excellent value for money!

  • which aldi? all aldi?
