It's one of the few times that gumtree has a place in civilised society
Try the big furniture warehouses in Hoppers Crossing along Old Geelond Road. There's like 5-6 of them near each other and they regularly have on-sale items (might have even bigger sales due to COVID-19 now). I got a couple of furniture items from those stores for ~40% discount earlier this year (before the pandemic) - you'll have to look around a bit though.

They aren’t open at the moment but there are a few “seconds” furniture places at DFO South Wharf.
Have you tried second hand Market Places?
Often a deal to be had after you talk down their initial asking price
