Or maybe wait for 13, 14 October for Amazon Prime day

  • Honest question as i'm curious - why do people need to store so many TB's of data these days?

I used to buy portable drives to store movies downloaded, but I've stopped since Netflix, Stan, and other streaming services started taking over the market. Unless you're a photographer or capture lots of videos as a profession, I can't think of any other reason.

I buy mine for my ps4 so I don't need to delete any game.

As worldpc said, to keep games not stored on SSD's. In America where high-speed internet is the norm, it may be different, but down under it's still much more viable to store games on hard drives and transfer to SSD's when needed than to redownload. It'll be at least a decade before that changes, looking at NBN's rollout.

Plus xbox one x hard drives can fail when they are full, they corrupt for some reason. I sent mine in for warranty after it would not be resolves for a reset then I redownloaded everything and it started happening again.

I want harddrives for movies, I have over 500 movies and they are not at all available on netflix, some movies I want the directors cut or the extended version.

Phone backups (galleries), computer backups, steam backup and cloud drive backup

The cloud giveth and taketh away. But I don't begrudge anyone outsourcing their media needs to the cloud - certainly less hassle. Just isn't without its downsides.
