  • Any good tripods for a newbie using Sony A7iii?

    • I bought the A-1205 last year. Love it

    • I bought traveller 7c last month. Love the height and build. Weight is also decent. Will cost you $255

      • Does it matter if I’ve already got the Sirui 3T-35K Table Top Tripod? I just want something that can go across both tripods without requiring me to take the plate off the camera.

        • You can use same plate across most Sirui tripods as they are Arca-swiss style plates and compatible. Although I use a L plate bracket on my camera

  • Thanks that’s helpful!

  • Any recommendations for a nikon d750 with relatively bulky lenses (24-70 2.8, 14-24 2.8)? Mostly for landscape+hiking so preferably a good balance between weight/stability.

    • I used to have a d750 but recently sold it off.

Now i have Fujifilm GFX50s with 23mm lens and using it with Sirui Traveler 7c.

I wanted as light as possible. The weight of my camera with L plate and lens is 2kg fyi.

      • I was looking at the 7C actually, just couldn't find any reviews on it. Saw some reviews of sirui's travel tripods/the ball heads saying they wouldn't be suitable for full-frame dslrs, but if your setup is working out well I may just pull the trigger.

        • Its a new one that's why no reviews. How tall are you? I am 6 feet and don't need to bend much to use the tripod with line of sight without center column extended.

Other option i was cosidering was Gitzo 1 series but there newer models had some issues as per user reviews so skipped on them.

          • @jedimaster: I'm a bit shorter than you so that's probably not an issue. Have you done much long exposure with it? Do you get much vibration shake or is it pretty manageable?

            • @xan700: Have done some long exposure tests inside home but nothing in field yet. stuck at home in VIC.

I am sure it should be fine. Was using a chinese carbon fibre tripod ($100 AUD) before this with my d750 with a 15mm f2.4 prime lens and created some pretty stunning images with that

The first tripod I looked at (I have a N-2204X with K-20X head) on their site was a W-2204 legs only at $599, so it would be about $509 after discount, and coincidentally the standard price at Digitalcamerawarehouse.com.au is $509.

So the discount may not provide the best prices. Sirui tripods are good value though.

Excludes the lens I want… Good thing it does as I don't need it haha
