Walked in to the Apple Store at Chatswood Chase to see if they could do me a deal on the Quadra D2 Drives as the new USB 3.0 have come out and they took $100 off the shelf price.
So i brought one.
Before you say thats its uber expensive for a 1TB Drive they RRP at $249……
it has firewire 800 so its primary a mac drive.
The material Lacie use to make their drive casing is of high quality compared to competitors that is why they are always expensive.
lol the material… >.< That justifies the RRP :)
Worth the money if you wanted Firewire 800 and/or eSATA.

OK you've said it, and now: it's uber expensive, ie not a bargain.
Is a firewire interface REALLY worth the $100 premium over other drives - especially when the hard drive itself is no better?
Plus RRP + Apple Store = sucker price anyway.
