I don’t get your point. No one is going to buy this then rush over to Apple to trade it in (your model is also only 64GB). Were you hoping that Apple would give you more than $420 simply because the new price of this now 2 year old model has dropped?

Do you need 515GB? Once the 12 is out (which won’t come in this size by the way), I guess you’d be able to find a 11 Pro base model for perhaps around the $1,200 mark, if you’re willing to wait a little longer.
I'm going to buy this for someone who probably won't use the cloud or transfer their media very often. Usually I found it worth maxing out the space. Bought a Galaxy S10+ a few months ago from the EPP for under $800 but they have expandable memory which even I find super useful.

Can’t wait for the iPhone 12 mini - it’s supposed to be 5.4”. Depending on what you expect from a camera point of view, the iPhone 11 Pro might be a more complete model though.
Yes the mini is the preferred option on new iPhone 12. But how much it will be is anyone's guess.
This deal is for the XS not 11 pro which cost way more.
I can’t see how it would cost more than the iPhone 11 at launch. Which would mean the iPhone 11 Pro could drop in price significantly. I wouldn’t go for a XS at this point.
I was persuaded to get off the Android train (always chasing the latest thing, as expensive as iOS in some cases and almost immediately superseded) after I sold my wife’s 2.5 year old iPhone X for $740, it’s expensive to get onboard but resale values are frankly crazy.
iOS is IMO a better internal experience but worse external, unless it’s to another Apple product, also burns me up Apple don’t have a “work apps” kill switch, receiving Skype calls @ 6:30 during breakfast shits me…
You can set a timer for do not disturb though, which can help a little with this. Any phone callers in your favorites list will still get through.
