"Steve Jobs: The Exclusive Biography" Only $9.99 Now from Google Books

180

When this book first came out, it was $30+, even for a digital copy.
Now it's only $9.99 on Google Books.

Only found this, when I was browsing Android Market and saw the Google Books link.

The irony is to read it on a Android phone or tablet, while Mr Jobs wants to destroy Android.
(hopefully I use IRONY correctly, because English is not my first language)
Please don't neg me because you don't like Steve Jobs or Android.
I think he had a great vision in technology and Android and iOS are both fantastic mobile systems.

      • hmmm… dejavu…

  • Does anyone know of the cheapest place for a paperback for this, I seem to only find it for about the $30 mark, i like to collect these sort of books, i have both the Google books, fantastic reads.

The Amazon UK link on that booko link (which appears the cheapest) takes you through to a Spanish version LOL.

EDIT: Actually it looks like all those links are to the spanish version. Here is a booko link to the English hardback version:

        http://booko.com.au/products/9781408703748

Cheapest is Amazon UK at AUD $18.82 but you will need to spend 25 pounds to get that price.

        • Sorry, wrong linky!

    • Dymocks wanted $45 LOL I said no thanks.

Walked to Big W and it's selling for ~$27. Seems to be about the cheapest I could find compared to book stores. Online would be cheaper but if you wanted it now I say have a look at your Big W.

Bought it a few weeks ago for $9.99 on iBook Store, since had 33% off iTunes voucher, came down to $7.69

    on google, what about itunes

    • +1

It's the same price at $9.99 (need to download iBook app first then browse iBook store). Then you can use your itunes cards to buy (if you get the 2x$20 for $30 deals gives you 25% off).

  • iBought this through the iBooks store for $9.99…Dymocks are always the most expensive retail book store while I've found Big W to be the cheapest. This was my first ebook purchase and reading it on my iPad seems appropriate :)

  • Maybe try this first, ie, if you'd like to read it all via Google Books:

    1. Access the Google Books page for this book
    2. Click on "Read Ch 1 for Free" (or similar)
    3. Read intro material, Ch 1, Ch 2, maybe more (all free)

(I watched as a guy photographed every page through the
end of Ch 2, at a public access point… then he went
to lunch, so I don't know how much more of that book
may be free to read online…)

PS I wonder if I can pay Google $9.95 for a PDF version of the whole book…?

    Anyone know?

  • I've read about 15% of the book so far, from what I can tell its pretty good. I highly recommend it. It gives a clear picture of who Jobs was and his life events. It's nice seeing how everything melds together, and learning a few things about him I didn't know, or of how things were in his time and at the start of the computing age. It's a book for Apple fans and non-fans alike, even if you didn't like him there's much that you could potentially learn from him. (disclaimer: no I'm not exactly an Apple fan even though I have an iPhone, I'm waiting for the right android tablet and phone before jumping over)

    • i dont think so. this book is not about iOS

    • Isn't there ramblings in this book about how Android stole all Apple's ideas, even though Android was being developed before the iPhone…

  • Gys, its agency priced so it should be $9.99 everywhere

    • Electronic copies are different to physical copies.

      • I understand that, the OP was about the ebook version and I'm stating that the e-version is $9.99 everywhere Borders,Kobo,Amazon,Google etc it is an Agency title the Price is set by the publisher

  • Hate Apple (and have no interest in Jobs misleading rambles), but I'll plus you for the irony of it being available on Android!!

  • Myer has it for $24 for a real book.
