Would like some recommendations for mobile holder for iPhone XS
Needs to be windscreen or dashboard only please.
I don’t like those magnet/air vent ones and I don’t use case on my phone.

Yes, case. My whole family are on the stuff due to getting some kit from work and found how good the quality is after stuffing around with other junk.

That mount on the back of the phone would be so annoying if you have it in your pocket. But if you face the mount outwards, it'll cause a huge wear-patch on the jeans or other pants.
No, this is not an issue. Had mine for 3 years now.
Oh I just realised I was looking at that "universal" one where the notch sticks out on the back (instead of the case where the notch "sinks in"). The case itself would still make the whole thing pretty thick though.
I guess it depends - if you're in the car/bike most of the time, the additional thickness may not matter. But if you have to carry the phone in your pocket all day and in the car once a week, it might be inconvenient.
@bobbified: Yep, if your not in the car, on a motorbike or bike it's not warranted. Your paying for the robust and quality attachment to the mode of transport you prefer.

There's no real other choice, is there? I've seen one that attaches in the passenger area next to the gear stick, but it's quite ugly.

But there really is only dashboard of windscreen.. there aren't really any side-window or roof mounts, are there?
I've been using the Cygnett universal car mount for 4 years. But you'll need to remove and clean the suction cup every year or so.

Is windscreen mount legal in NSW? Down here in Vic the local gestapo litterally dragged a woman out of her car because of that recently. Apparently it's not legal here.
It’s fine here but yes if it’s obstruction then you’ll be handed a fine so don’t put it on your face I guess.
