Best way to do a $10k sale on FBM with cash only. I am the seller

Need advice. Want to sell an item, but don't want to be mugged doing it. How can I ensure the person actually turns up. Also is an agreed price on FBM if agreed to on your terms a legally binding order for purchase that the buyer must them complete.

Do it at a bank branch

Banks aren't open in Vic I don't think. Also can you actually get that amount out of the ATM in one day.

Banks are essential and as such are open

    • This is the way to go. The buyer can do a transfer at the teller with you with them, the teller can confirm they have the cash to do it.

Could ask for a bank cheque which will lessen chances of mugging.

  • So you want someone to meet a stranger (you) with $10,000 cash in their pocket!

Why not just do a transfer between Bank accounts using Osko?
Osko is located within your online banking and backed by BPAY so you know that it’s safe.

    • I think there's a risk it could bounce. But I may just be thinking of the buyer cashing a bad cheque and then transferring

Osko is cash payments between Bank Accounts with transfers taking place within one minute. No chance of a 'bounce', if there isn't enough money in the sending Account, then the transfer just doesn't happen.

Osko is limited to $1000 per day

      • I think it depends on the Bank, some Banks allow up to $30,000 per day!

        • You are correct (seems to be my bank that is limited to $1000)

looking around though seems of the banks offering OSKO most have a $1000 limit some go as high as $2000 for instant paymemts.
Going through the list on the Osko website i have not found a bank offering over $2000 yet

I have 3 active accounts with OSKO enabled banks
all three have $1000 limits hence my reasoning here

    • its a Fb sale, so don't want to get shafted.

    • Bank cheque

  • Schedule the exchange/meet up at a police station.

You can't, unless you ask for a small deposit first or something.

Contracts can be verbal, but it doesn't matter unless you're willing to take the person to court.
