First PC Build Advice (Cases, PSU and Motherboard) - $1200

Hi Everyone,

Just have a couple of questions regarding choosing motherboard, cases and power supply. Will be purchasing most of the parts from Shopping Express.

I will be mainly using this PC to play games at 1080p 60Hz.

1) I just chose this motherboard because it came with wifi. Wondering if it would be better to buy a motherboard without wifi and just purchase wifi usb/ card? Something like Asrock B550 Phantom Gaming 4 ATX.

2) Chose this case randomly. Would like tips on how to choose the right one

3) Also, 550W should be enough to power this right?

    I'm out of touch of the latest hardware but I'd get a bigger ssd, with windows and a few games it'll be handy down the track.

    Choose a case you like the look of, it's the only thing you see and cases more or less last indefinitely.

      Oh, I forgot to mention my budget was around 1.1k so I'll be adding more storage down the line.

      Agreed, about 3-4 games and bam your SSD is full.

      Wifi dongle are about $20 and usually better than inbuilt

      If you're planning to upgrade anything in future a decent Motherboard to last will be better than a mediocre motherboard and graphics card.

      Alternatively can buy some parts second hand

    Aerocool Cylon RGB TG Mini Tower is a good alternative since you have a mATX mobo. Also, as for the storage, you should get a crucial P1 m.2 500gb since it will save space, better for cable management and faster than 2.5" SSD drive.

      The P1 is almost the same price as the 2.5 drive. I'll the make the change!

      Also, I can see it's already 20% faster with the case haha

    RMx 550 got on Amazon for $144 delivered
    id get a better graphics card.
    also 500GB aint much these days get a spinny 1tb for trash

      Isn't the 1660 Super good enough for 1080p 60Hz?

        for $300 its rubbish / lightweight

        i dont understand gamers who buy such low end crap, sorry, i know it's just me.

        must have 7 or 8 in model name for games.
        the only downside of a high end graphics card is that once you go there you cant come back

    You have a microATX mobo paired with a full ATX case. You can downsize the case to save room. NR400 would be good.

      Looks like it's not available at Shopping Express. I'll check other stores that have it. Then, compare if its cheaper to buy the whole list there.

    Need fans, microsoft windows, peripherals, monitor, case mods etc Is that all factored into your budget?

    The gpu is a good price. Can get more storage later.
