L7-805 Wired Gaming Mouse, 4 Selectable DPI Settings (2400 Max) $17 Delivered (from eBay)

Moved to Forum: Original Link

I was in need of a gaming mouse and took a gamble on this unit. (A gamble as i couldnt find much in the way of reviews). I realise some may say this isnt a deal as it is an everyday price. But it is a deal compared to anything else i could find. I figured my risk might as well be your reward.

Turns out this mouse is actually excellent.
Weight is spot on (for me at least)
DPI change works very well, you can tell the mode easily as the LED on the top changes colour.
DPI changes from 600 - 2400 (4 steps).
Sensor works well on all surfaces i have tried.
Side buttons are quite firm, no accidental clicking while moving or picking up the mouse.
Comfortable for right handers.
No harware mouse acceleration/negative acceleration that i could detect.
Test ingame with BF3 and the movement was noticeably smoother than my old microsoft mouse.
I boosted the USB polling rate to 500 and the mouse was still happy.
Shipping was around 9 days.

  • Nice find and review, thanks for letting us know!

the problem with cheap mouses is their cords (and connections) go quickly. i wouldnt trust this, at least my $70 razor comes with a 2 year warranty. does this come with any warranty?

    and it is ugly.

    • This is 1/5 the price. If it lasts 6 months, it's value has already outlasted your $70 razor. Mice aren't complicated devices, and even the cheapest ones usually don't go bad that quickly. Also, beauty is in the eye of the beholder - personally I don't think it looks that bad.

i find cheap mouses barely last 6 months (and my razor is over 3 years going strong)

perhaps i might be a heavier user than most (i use a laptop, so im constantly moving stuff around, and the mouse spends alot of time on the floor).

plus you can get cheaper mouses with a warranty. i just wouldn't trust one of these.

(and no, no it is ugly, no beholder, just ugly)

        • You can get a cheaper selectable dpi gaming mouse?

        • no, i meant cheaper than my $70 mouse with a warranty

    • It is pretty much a copy/paste of a microsoft sidewinder design.

Frankly i dont mind the look nor did i really care. I just wanted a gaming mouse that didnt cost me heaps.

    • yeah I mean the sidewinder design was very popular, if you want ugly have a look at the cyborg R.A.T, that said if anyone doesn't like their R.A.T, you can donate to me

Wtf? Is that a mouse or a Meccano set?

    • Found one of their other designs as well. Same price, different shape

    Ali Express: $15.09

      • ahh yes, I know that Ali express is full of scamming companies but a few are reliable companies hidden. Of course I haven't done research on the one I posted but just showing that the price above wasn't the cheapest it can go.

        • same link several hours later

          Dodgey

        • Holy Shit..mindf**k

Did they realise I had linked to them or something and increased the price

      • Thats like saying don't buy from eBay because some of them are scammers….

  • +1

Probably belongs in the forums as it's not technically a 'deal', but good find & review.

    • Yeah I was conflicted as it is more expensive elsewhere.

  • This is kinda of like a copy of the Microsoft sidewinder mouse, looks nearly the same.

    http://www.mousearena.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/microso…

  • That is one weird looking bastard…

Anyone aside from Duff used one?

"Exactly as described, a complete clone of the Microsoft Sidewinder. DPI switch works, side buttons work, the lights on the back work, feels like quality materials, and has a nice weight to it. I am very pleased with this £12 purchase lol. Every time I press the DPI switch there's very bright colour change from the small window you can see on the left (picture above), it changes from red, blue, purple and off.

The shape feels very natural, almost as if it "moulds" to my hand."

  • Regular price = forum post

    • Hi Ozpete, I looked through the "Deal Posting Guidelines" but it doesn't seem to say anything about this. (if it did i may have missed it)

To be clear, lets take a graphics card as an example.

Say an AMD 6770 based graphics card sells for around $130 in most brands. If someone found another brand for $50 (that is still a 6770) that has gone unnoticed, it isn't a bargain because that is their regular price?

The above isn't meant to be an argument btw. Just interested.

      • Agreed there is a line, and its not always clear. What can be construed as a deal and whats just an ad. For Example every Dealextreme product could be construed as a bargain for someone buying retail here. As such we only allow deals if its off their regular price. In this case we cant see if this is off the regular price or not

Without a RRP its hard to make a call.

Also some other factors come into play

Its an ebay listing and we have some rules here
        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:posting_guidelines_on_…

We are not sure if its a copy (even counterfeit). Especially as its coming from an international seller.

All the above said, it was moved to the forums not deleted. And yes not everyone is going to get it right every time including mods…

    • That is the 3 button version.

      • Right on, wow they look so similar…

        • Do they seriously expect us to believe that mouse is made with "peach wood"?
          For that price?

          Also…'Cover Carport Painting Comfortable'?

  • Just received mine today, decent delivery time IMO.
Anyway, haven't used it yet, but it seems alright so far.
The build and everything are quite good for a chinese copy.

  • Update for anyone that may read this looking for a cheap gaming mouse.

Mouse is still working great. Dropped it on floorboards a heap of times and still works perfectly.

  • Pretty good deal, especially with free delivery.

Also note if you want the actually X5, you should be able to find them from $30 delivered on eBay (refurb)

I got mine for $25 from the UK and my friend got one for $30 from AU

Although tbh, The G400 for $24 delivered from DSE probably the best value for money gaming mouse out there, i'm hoping there will be another deal like that on OzB at some point!

  • Any way to lower the dpi even further on the mouse or is this fixed to those four settings?

    • Use Control Panel > Mouse Settings - then adjust the tracking speed.

      • I'm guessing you want me to change the pointer speed option. Don't want to change it since it will cause skipping. Thanks anyways.
