Picked up the following at JB HI-FI at Westfield Miranda Today. I was in the market for 2 TV's so that probably helped the haggling down the price. But you should be able to negotiate close to this price without much effort. Was originally $698 each in store.

considering digital transmission is only about 30fps and blu ray is 24fps, you're totally wrong, 50Hz is sufficient
yephe's right. The eye usually can't tell that much of a difference until its below 40fps. Even then you only need higher refresh rates if source is 3D.
Better factors are response time combined with refresh rate.
