Pre-orders are temporarily suspended
Due to overwhelming demand, we’ve had to hit pause on taking any more pre-orders. Don't worry, as soon as we have more visibility on stock availability we will re-open pre-orders.

JB's pre-order page has just gone live. They're taking $50 deposits for pre-orders and say they'll SMS links to pay remaining balance and choose delivery options 'closer to release day'.

$749 regular, $599 Digital Edition. Worth noting that JB does not guarantee you'll actually get one on launch day:

PS5 order pages have actually been removed from the site now. You just get an 'Oops' error page when you click on them. Not sure whether that's good or bad news :P

Just got a call from jb hi fi went in and put deposit down now they called and said they can refund my deposit or i can leave the $50 deposit for next shipment stock :( … asked for eta and they said they not sure but maybe 2021 december … sighhh

Got into store around 1130am to put the order as well :(

I managed to snag a $50 dollar deposit before they turned them off, my order still shows processing too. It says they will text everyone closer to launch day but is this because I haven't got one locked in? Has anyone actually gotten a confirmation text at all?

  I have just sent an email (and a tweet as well) questioning the gift card line. As this isnt oulined in their terms and conditions, I am curious to see how this can be possible. As I was planning on using existing gift cards this is frustrating to see, had it been the case I could have purchased with EB from the onset and know I am in the first batch rather than the vague confirmation in the queue we recieved today.

I just got a text message confirming I’m in the queue for a PS5 and they will be reaching out for payment soon. If you have paid a reservation spot for the PS5 you should also be getting a text too :)

This is exactly what I was afraid of from the moment they went with this weird deposit system. I don't know why they couldn't have just taken the full payment up front. They accepted gift cards for the $50 deposit, why not the balance?

  I'd say a lot of people wouldn't want to pay the full price up front when there's not even any idea given of when they'll receive the console. Agree though that it doesn't seem fair to not be able to use gift cards for the balance.

  Likely because their online ordering system is incapable of paying with gift cards at the moment (when you order over the phone and receive a custom link to purchase). System limitation rather than a deliberate move one would hope.
