MacBook Air from $721 Delivered (Old Core 2 Duo Model)

100

Seems like a good deal? However can someone comfirm this is the current macbook air model and not superseded one. They also have other 11 and 13" models available. Also i think they have ipad 1 on some runout deal as well, you can search their store for it. I'd buy one, but spent too much moneys on iphones and ipads recently!

edit superseded macbook air, not current model-thanks guys.

  • seems like the old one since it's running on core 2 duo

      But It's a Macintosh

  • they're the previous generation

  • It's the old one
The new ones use a 1.6Ghz processor in the 11"
The ones listed on this site are 1.4Ghz

  • $721 model on sale is the last gen version - new ones have a 1.6ghz i5 (entry level)
Still a good price tho for those just needing a mac for web/word processing

or to look cool, tech specs shouldn't affect that

    • Dude you can do way more than mere web/word processing on it. You can do web/word processing on a tiny phone. Heck, I have one of the older models and I do programming, photo editing, video editing & occasional gaming on it.

    • Yer i see your point - i was just taking into account that we have the current model entry level mba.
While it can handle most tasks well, due to the small screen size of it (11") - it is very uncomfortable for long sessions of photoediting, report writing (multiple references open) and video editing without using an external monitor setup. Im not doubting the performance, just the ergonomic side of things. It may be comfortable for some but i found it annoying. I'd opt for the 13"… Just My opinion

      • Sure - in fact, I opted for the 13" also

  • These are the older ones, the newer ones have core i series processors. Still, some of these (including the cheapest 11") have discrete graphics cards (nVidia GF320) which might perform better than the newer ones that only have the graphics integrated into the processor (Intel 3000 HD). So there could be something you want here, just be sure of what you're getting.

    • Yes the discrete graphics cards perform better.

  • awesome deal .. but it is NOT the latest model.

    From Apple's website:

    11-inch : 64GB

    • 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5
      processor
    • 2GB memory
    • 64GB flash storage1
    • Intel HD Graphics 3000

Guys - just in case no one has got the message, this is the older model. OK

    • +1

Lol, you can say that again.

  • +1

man this is the old model x99999

  • This is not quite as good as the Dick Smith deal from a few weeks ago. During that sale I was lucky enough to pickup the 128Gb 11" Air for $719.00. The same Air here is $883.00. This is still a great deal for someone who does not need CPU performance.

Is it the 10% off deal?

      • +1

Yes it was - i had to drive from Eastern Suburbs to Penrith to pick it up. The unit was already discounted and then an additional 10% off. i think the extra 64Gb is important to have

  • +3

    Is this the older model?

  • good price though for a 'new' machine (Oct 2010 release). The Macbook Air series is a nice machine, i've got one.. prefer it to the thicker macbooks.

  • it is nice and niche

  • So am I to understand that this is a previously unreleased new model Macbook Air?? What a bargain!

  • how much do these usually go for?

  • does it come with siri installed?

    • -3

no yet, probably will be in next new OS

    • Dude you've been reading too many rumor sites…

  • -2

lol I guess good deal if you want a mac… I prefer my I7, 8gb ram, bluray + dedicated graphics card toshiba laptop that cost me 900$ 8 months ago.. I mean :)

    • +1

How many bluray's have you played on it so far? Does it have a SSD? Does the battery last more than 3hrs? Otherwise, you're just trollin'.

  • So can I get gst back if I'm going overseas end of the month

    • if the purchase is less than 30 days old and has GST to get back then yes.

  • Just bought the 64gb. Model few hours ago, now my payment is fully refund to. My acc without any explaination, what the heck?

    • Same here, bought the 13 inch 128GB. They cancelled the order without any reason and refunded my payment (and took the 13 inch 128GB model offline). I seriously doubt they have enough stock. I don't even believe their stock counter is accurate at all, let alone being real time.

  • is it possible to get apple care(extended warranty) with this deal?

    • Definitely.
