Chromecast Ultra Vs Vodafone TV

Just purchaced an Optoma UHD51 4K Home Theatre Projector and deciding whether to go with a Chromecast Ultra or a Vodafone TV to stream 4K to it.

Currently have the Chromecast 3rd Gen linked to my Google Home in my bedroom and have been really impressed with it, especially how easy it is to stream mp4. files I have downloaded to it. Was wondering if anyone has experience using this feature on the Vodafone as have heard it can be laggy.

Cheers

I have 3 Vodafone tv boxes. More than happy with them. Use them as Foxtel boxes :)

Never had any slow down issues and they have free delivery on their website.

Google are about to release a new chromecast (code name Sabrina) with built-in Android TV and remote.

Best hold off buying a device as this might be the one to get.

Second this, new chromecast due to be released September 30

      • Do such devices usually get launched worldwide on the same day ?

  • I think the Vodafone tv only does 1080p casting

  • my vodatv isn't chromecasting at the moment. not sure why…

  • Can anyone watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXb3EKWsInQ (turn on 4k quality) ?

The video seems to break apart, skips on the Vodafone TV. It works fine on my Nvidia Shield Pro and Mi Box 3.

I don't think Vodafone sells tv boxes anymore. Went on their website and it auto redirects to the home page. Search yielded no results either

    • I found the same :(
Has Vodafone TV production been ceased? Should we expect a new device?
