Make sure to switch to the Australia Warehouse. The RRP is $50USD (about $70 AUD), usually coming from a Chinese or American warehouse. The starting price of $56 AUD isn't showing as a "sale", but with the further 10% off and very quick shipping time from Banggood's Australian warehouse, this seems like a good deal

The BL-touch is an autobed leveling sensor for 3D printers such as the Ender 3. It senses the height of your printing bed, and creates a topographical map of the different points, to see where is too low/ too high. Software can then "compensate" to these differences by adjusting the height of the print head, giving a much better first layer without needing to manually adjust every time. This is really useful if you hate re-leveling your print bed, or have height errors caused by a misaligned frame.

Are there cheaper version of this? Yes! But they are often built with lower quality (meaning less accurate readings), lower reliability (meaning they may not work properly/ require constant adjustment) and come from China (so long shipping time). Imo using an unreliable sensor defeats to point of auto bed leveling, so better to buy a good one the first time round.

Edit: Is this real?
You couldn't say for certain before receiving, but all signs point to this being genuine. Banggood is one of the more reliable Chinese electronics retailers (especially given this is a part from their AU warehouse, I doubt they'd go to that much trouble for a fake). They've noted the Brand with a link to the official Banggood Creaility page. There is 311, 4.96 star reviews, which all seem to say it's genuine. Banggood customer service is semi reliable, so in the unlikely event it was fake they'd probably let you return it.

  • I have the SKR mini v2.0 board coming, do i still need the full kit for BL touch or can i buy just the probe for my ender 3 pro?

    • +1

      Just probe

  • Hmm tempting - though still waiting on a solid guide on doing it with the new 4.2.x board.

    • Its on the Creality website

      General notice:
      https://www.creality.com/blog-detail/creality-bl-touch-notic…

      Specific Instructions:
      https://www.creality.com/download

Look in "BL Touch Introduction.pdf" which is in the Ender 3 section, its not in the Ender 3 Pro section… page 2 has the 4.2.2 board with wiring diagram, you can zoom in and even see the 4.2.2 on the photo.

      • ah thanks for that :) - a lot of the guide is for the old board or e3 v2 - and my google fu was obviously lacking :)

        • There is a video on the bottom of the first page too… though if you read the comments on the video people are saying it can be done without the board interface and there is a link to a direct wiring method…

          • @Pobman: great plenty of research to do :)

            • @RaihaX: Yes.. except more research usually adds more questions … then more doubt…

              • @Pobman: Haha that is true - I am trying to balance between making the printer the project vs using it for my project…

teacherstech just covered this for you.

        • oh nice he just posted one 2 days ago thanks for the heads up.

All covered in this video from Teaching Tech

      • So, judging from this video it seems like there are a couple of "adapter" components in this kit that aren't necessary for the Ender 3 v2.

Before I pull the trigger on this, is there a better buy that doesn't have the extra bits?

        • +1

Not that I've seen, it normally is around $65 plus postage for just the probe itself locally.

You could go clone like from Trianglelab but have heard mixed things with clones.

        • +1

I was about to pull the trigger on probe only with 2m extension cable for about $80 delivered. I got this one with the extra bits, even though I don't need them for my v2.

        • Thanks guys. My hesitation cost me the 10% discount but I still grabbed one!

I have an older CR-10S from 2 years ago. Will I need the full kit?

    • The full kit includes mounting bracket and wires, the full kit is cheaper than just the BLTouch standalone in Australia. So even if you don't need the full kit it still works out cheaper.

    Is this genuine BLTouch?

    • I want to know too

  • +1

If this is a genuine BLTouch then it is a great price. Can be used on any printer with some printed mounts, the only difference I see is no spring included but I hard mount mine currently anyway.

      • Yeah looked through the reviews and it looks genuine. Excellent price, might pick up a spare

Recently invested some money to start a new hobbies, and this is one of the recommend upgrade for the printer.
Just brought one from AliExpress from antclabs Referred store for 55 aud with extended cable.
Note!! After carefully look At this post, it’s a v2.0 from the pic.
And the one from AliExpress is the newest v3.1. But trade off is you gonna wait a bit I guess. You choice :)

    • Can't say for certain what version it is, but all the reviews say they received v3.1 (old picture maybe?). Either way, Aliexpress shipping is taking ridiculously long right now. Ordered some thermal paste 2 months ago with no sign of arrival. Ordered the SKR Mine E3 1 month ago and it hasn't even left China yet. Good luck with getting with getting your order before the year ends.

      • Thanks mate!
I know, some of my order take a good dam 3 months, but not too worry on this one, as starting, don’t even know the difference between 2.0 nor 3.1. Give me time to learn a it more on 3D printing before this thing come to the picture.

    • Did you look at any of the reviews?
Nearly all of them have gotten the v3.1 so I'm not sure why you think this is a v2.0

      • +1

I have no doubt it is a v3.1,(ok, maybe a little.
I just pointing out the picture is showing v2.0 bltouch.
        So I didn't "think" it's a v2.0.

        Genuine bltouch is by antclabs.
and banggood is not an official dealer with antclabs.
"antclabs" and "genuine" not mentioned anywhere on that post.
where the official dealer on aliexpress offered a few dollar differents where you might wait forever as a trade-off.
Like dfitt10 mentioned there is a fat chance you get the real deal giving banggood's reputation, it's your choice :)

  • the code has expired :(

  • Expired after only 294 clicks? Was there even any stock?

    • The expiry was for the generic "10% off electronics" discount being applied. The original $56 AUD price is still available
