Looking for a Cheap Hair Clipper

Hey all, due to lockdown I haven't had a haircut in months. Can anyone recommend me a cheap and reliable hair clipper to use? Thank you!

Don't get the super cheap rubbish from target/Kmart etc. They are dull, have no power, and pull your hair out. I've had a Wahl cheapie for years and it still goes like a champion.

    • I have bought a few cheapies in my time and you're right. They are terrible.

The most recent hair clipper set I purchased was from Kmart, but it wasn't a really cheap one. I think that it cost me around $50 about 5 years ago, and it has stainless steel blades which never need oiling. In fact, it says in a few places on the machine and elsewhere, 'DO NOT OIL'!

I just had to go and check what brand it is. Remington. The attachments are okay, but the bag for all the attachments is terrible!

But I love this 'no oiling' the blades.

I saw this Wahl clipper on Myer and it's pretty cheap. I think they are different but do you reckon if this is any good as compared to the one u suggested?

      • Should be ok it’s got a stack of good reviews. I’ve got a similar one might be same just a diff colour. The attachments include taper for each ear but better off not using them I find. It’s harder than it looks to DIY hopefully you have someone on hand to help. There’s basic haircut instructions included but YouTube easier to digest.

  • Buy any clipper, it’s only temporary

  • Just go to a barber. Go to one that brings you a shot of whisky without charging extra. I go to one that still sells cigarettes on a rack behind the register and it's all old men and no one says anything to each other.

  • Aldi was selling some a few weeks ago - see if your local still has any

Not super cheap, but cordless. Much easier to use.
