      • +2

no stock anywhere in sydney, either. been calling everyone

        • +1

No stock Victoria. They said they sold out 6 months ago. But 160gb available for $349.

  • +1

You will never find one. Even ringing up the CS wont help as the stock level they saw in the system is different from the store itself. Ringing up the store afterwards will tell you in fact they have none in stock. It is only just luck if you can walk in a Target and find one.

    Good luck.

  • sucks to be at work today and not be able to get down there!!! Damn Sydney :(

    • This is a hoax anyway

      • yeah how did the poster find out about this anyways?

        • Thats is a great question, although if none of can actually get it, what do you call it?

      • +1

And how do you know this All Mighty One?

        • +1

          none left

  • +2

+1 if you could get one, however very unlikely that you will find stock I'd say lol

  • ummmm feel like trying to catch a small fish in the big ocean |0|.
my bet is $230 for 160 GB by mid dec. so no hurry to chasing this one up.

    • That would be pretty nice. Not in a huge rush to get one, so fingers crossed I guess.

  • already sold out 3 days ago. should posted earlier. Thnks for the the post by the way

I just called target on Bourke street in Melbourne and they said no stock. But i asked him to check other stores and he said forest hill and docaster may have one left each. I DONT HAVE A CAR! errrrrh! When I called up doncaster it went straight to the answering machine. I guess all us oz bargainers are spamming calls lol.

    • Forest Hill is out and I think someone said Doncaster is out too. BL for us I guess.

      • Confirmed.

  • Tried calling half a dozen targets around vic, nothing anywhere.

  • Hopefully there is stock available in WA.

  • +2

All gone in QLD Target stores…. they sold out days ago so this deal was posted far too late.

  • Castle Hill now has 0. Got the last one :D

  • I asked the store guy and asked if he can check any stock in Brisbane or QLD area. but no chance. These were sold out months ago in their system. Wish of luck guys

  • Just called the Doncaster one. Sold out!

  • anyone check Target canberra

    • why not ring them to find out?

      • just did..neither Belco nor Canberra Centre have any

  • +3

haha target must be thinking wtf are we getting these unusual calls specifically for this item number lol.

  • are stores letting u reserve stock on the phone?

  • saw the receipt - anyone rckn price matching will work?

    • +1

Problem is trying to find any more of these 120GB ones

    • +1

Price matching dick smiths only works if they have it in stock. which kinda makes sense. dont know abt others

  • +2

WA - BullCreek, Carousel (had one now sold this morning), East Vic Park out of stock.

edit: Perth Metro Area - None in stock. boo

  • Great Deal, but this is third time I have seen a PS3 120GB for under 200 in last two weeks. Is there anything we don't know about, like a newer version hitting the shelves soon ?

    • +1

They no longer make the 120gb version of the PS3, so this is all old stock. It was replaced with 160gb model. The console is the same, just a bigger hard drive.

    • really ? try to get a old model one but can't find a bargain.

  • System is showing no stock for WA. Apparently there was only 20 available throughout the whole of Australia.

  • deja vu i tell ya, wasn't this deal offered a long time ago?

    • +3

      yes this was

I work at Target Melbourne City, and Target had this deal a couple of years ago (with a different PS3 console i think, maybe the 60GB I forget)

At that time, they only had 2 in the whole of Victoria.

It's like a gimmick to get people to go into their stores.

      • Don't say that here:p

      • A real life bait and switch :(

  • Apart from games, what can a PS3 be use for? blue-ray, play-TV?

    • Decent media center, annnddd streaming free TV like iView and Plus Seven.

    • +1

Ps3 upscales normal DVDs so it's a awesome DVD player, also handy as you don't really need a remote as the controller does the same job. You just need to make sure you don't buy a region locked Blu ray

    • can you store movies onto the hard drive and play them when you want?

      • Sure can.
Doesn't play MKV's off the Hard drive as far as I know, but apart from that, compatability is good.

        • MKV's can easily be converted to m2ts with either mkv2vob or tsMuxer Gui, both apps are free.
Once you've converted them you can then copy onto the PS3's hard drive to play them.

If you're using files over 4GB then you'd be best setting up a Gigabit network and streaming via PS3 Media Server or similar program.

    • You should know better than that xdefine

      • Care to explain why?

        • +1

Hey come on xDEFiNE, thought you'd be a little more sympathetic thank that =p

20 throughout Australia = 20 potentially VERY happy ozbargainers. I think it's worth the post.

If it was approximately only 2-5 then maybe not so good.

      • -2

Why? 20 is NOT much considering there has been nearly 4000 views in under 12hours… By looking through the comments many people called up to check and none were in stock… only a few stores has (1) in stock.

This has been posted before and that's most likely why there's hardly any in stock..

        • +1

I understand what you're trying to say and in a way you do make some sense - we'd be flooded with redundant posts if everyone kept on posting very limited stock.

I think this wouldn't be such a vexatious issue though if I we all saw 20 posts from happy regular ozbargainers.

          Oh well =[

They had bigger GeeBees at JayBee in a recent posting.

    3.15 firmware to boot.

    • Sorry to rain on your parade but its unlikely that a larger hdd PS3 would have a lower firmware ver. especially below v 3.15.
      120gb models are pre-250 production then 250>160>320.
Even so you can find 160's with <3.40 but less than 3.15 is a myth.

      • I am stating fact here.

        250GB PS3 FIFA has 3.15 firmware.

    • +1

      Gotta love anonymous negs?

  • DAMN YOU BRODEN!

  • +3

I think the positive votes on this deal should be locked.
In the next 24 hours heaps of people browsing the site are gonna plus it because from the title it seems like a good price.
    (50 when I posted this.)

  • Nah,Couldn't find one in my local target.

  • Went to target in Fremantle & the kid at the counter was confused by the amount of people suddenly asking for 120GB consoles. He said they've never had them to his knowledge but he will try and source some :P

    • +1

having used to work there, as far as i know, there hasnt been stock since they were in production.
I did however find Halo 3 xbox 360s in the store room once… for something like $6. I brought that up, and management bought it from under me. bastards.

  • +2

made an account just to comment, thanks OP! great deal….having said that I had to call about 6 Target stores in the area before I found one with ONE in stock

PS: it was the carlingford, nsw store

  • Brought ps3 250gb with firmware 3.0.1 from
Djs a few months ago for $300

    • Where did you bring it?

      • +2

        Home after he bought it.

  • That would have been nice to have an my 80GB (fat version) started playing up now with the drive not reading properly and when i caleld sony they quoted me $175 to repair it.

I figured i would rather buy another one than pay sony that much to try and fix it.

    • bluray or hard drive?

    • Sell it as faulty on eBay for a bit of extra $$

      • I found a way to make it play, but it's annoying as it's not completely not working.

If I insert a blu-ray disk, then it reads it and after that the game disk is able to be read again.

I am not quite sure what's faulty/playing up at this stage.

  • I just bought a PS3 40gb used obviously with YLOD for under $90 and fixed it up in less then an hour and it's running just as good now! :)

    • how easy it is to fix these issues and how much does it cost?

    • Unfortunately a reflow will only be a temporary fix. Reballing is the only way to go which I hear is very expensive.

All I can say is enjoy it for however long it lasts :)
