How many goats for 200 grams of saffron? Asking for a friend.

    • +2

How many goats… hmmm. ….Including yourself, or excluding yourself?

      • -4

I actually bought some so instead of being hypocritical why don't you put your money where your mouth is.

        PS. It was 2 goats

This is a hilarious comment. Upvote please.

Gonna give this one a miss because I'm already stocked up – but I'm a big fan of your stuff. :) Keep up the good work.

    • Thank you for the message and kind words. Hope all is well with you and your family

  • You're link isn't working still but I have bought the 1g. Thank you for your post.

    • Thank you! I have tested the link and it works. Maybe you can use a different browser? Sorry about this.

    Will try it out

    Thanks OP…ordered 2 x 0.5g..

    • Thank you very much! Hope you enjoy it :)
Apologies again for the little hiccup

  • Coles and ww sells 0.5g for $7. Not as good as yours if judging by appearance, but not $14 for 0.1g.

    Plus gc discount, etc.

    • They might have changed suppliers. We know for the fact that their quality is much lower unfortunately..

      • What metric do you use to make it a fact and not an opinion, out of curiosity?

        • +3

Saffron region, length of the stigma, colour, aroma, age of harvest.

  • Link not working, OP do you have the direct link ?

  • Ordered 2
Is the Kasmiri one better stuff than this?

    • +2

It is from a different region. It is a small region that's why the price is higher. Also the characteristics of the saffron is different. Kashmiri saffron tends to have more colour and less aroma. Hope this helps..

  • Which place is this 0.5 gm sourced from? Also - is this 1 gm for 7.99 same or different quality?

    • +2

We have Iranian (Persian) saffron. They are the same quality, different packs.

      • Thank You.

        • Thanks mate. Hope it helped.

          • +1

@Saffron-Store: Yes thanks. Was browsing the website and loved the 2 gm gift box. Will probably last years :)

      • So buying two 0.5g was a mistake. I should have known there was a 1g for slightly lesser price.

        • +2

Some people don't use saffron often. Then, it is better to buy 2 x 0.5g because the saffron stays sealed and won't loose its aroma and smell.

  • Is this the normal price going forward? I just need to know if I should stock up.

    • +1

With COVID the prices are going up and up. The new harvest is coming soon (around December) and we will get new stock by January. At the moment the farmers have increased their price 3 times than last year's. It is a difficult situation for us, we want to incentivise farmer to sell us great quality products, and at the same time, don't want to increase our prices in case we loose customers. It is very difficult to make decisions and to be fair to all sides. The farmers in Iran, Spain and India are under a lot of pressure…

  • I would like to ask some genuine questions…
1)How do you check/ensure its quality when you receive the packs from abroad?
    2) Does your product go through some kind of govt. certification process or lab testing?
    3) Did you get a license for selling this product ?
    4) How can we at home ensure the quality of product we receive?

    • +2

      Thanks for the message.
Our saffron gets checked in the lab against international standards for Saffron (yes! Saffron has international standards). Random samples are picked from the packs and get tested. the results need to be presented to the Australian government when the saffron arrives in Australia. Also, the packs get audited at Customs before releasing them to us.

Does the 1g saffron only has the blister pack for packaging? And the blister pack is not resealable, right?

    • +1

Hey mate, the 1g pack has a metal tin which you can use to keep your saffron away from air and moisture. It is a metal tin.

    Thanks bought some 😁

    • Thank you! Thanks for helping local and small businesses. much appreciated

  • +1

    Got some thanks!

    • Thank you! Much appreciated. And we hope you enjoy your saffron

  • Is saffron safe to use by pregnant ladies? If so what about green tea bags with saffron are they safe too for pregnant women?

    • Thanks for the message. Please consult with your GP regarding this.

  • How does this saffron compare to other brands claiming ISO standards such as Saharkhiz or Abbaszadeh?

    • Given the seller's reluctance to respond, I can only presume the above brands to be on par, or quite likely of better quality with virtually half the price.

      Where's the bargain?

  • Do you have any products that are not subject to international sanctions?

    • Yes we have grinders, mortar and pestle, pasta and tea.
