is a 2014 game, there are no different or what compare to the original release on wii
*Wii U.
It has an entirely revamped battle mode that the Wii U game lacked.
Which it should have had in the first place.
Honestly the game is still barebones. In fact theres less to do now as all the tracks are unlocked from the start.
Challenge modes or a single player mode would have been great. But of course they don't need to do that to sell.
Ok, i got your point.
But it is still a fun game worth $63 right?
One of the must have game for Switchers!
No it's not, I'm sad to say it but it's not. It's very disappointing that the game has only 1 mode/type to play it. All drive together, all jump at the SAME time on EVERY corner to get a boost , it gets boring very fast as it's repetitive. Too many players online allowed at once per race, I think 14 or 16? Game completely lost any tactical aspect that it had before, for example Mario Kart wii.
Most of what you said is wildly inaccurate.
Online is limited to 12 players, just like offline.
Offline has 4 speed modes that cater to different skill levels, time trials, cups and custom tournaments.
Then there's battle mode which is a lot of content that was entirely absent (in a true sense) from the Wii U release that could easily add a dozen hours of entertainment.
Not to mention that you can play this with a standard pro controller, a single joy con, with or without motion controls or even a labo bike/steering wheel if you desperately wanted.
It has more customisation than Mario Kart Wii and lacks the ridiculous levels of tethering that game had if that's what you miss about it.
Have you tried 200cc mode? It's quite challenging and changes a lot of your driving style.
Can't go into details, just explained how races are conducted, by mode I meant it's always one same repetitive patern, template going on and it gets very, very boring, very fast. No tactics involved, for example I like Mario Kart wii, I could drive automatic instead of manual. While all manuals do that one same thing all together all at the same time, all on every possible little space and corner, jump-slide-boost i could prop my bike and cut a straight inner line. Only thing they've changed with Mario Kart 8 is that when you all do the jump-slide-boost and all together get glued in one lump while doing it, they've removed the difference in vehicle classes by size that the bigger one doesn't throw the smaller one out of the track on direct contact. Sadly no more automatic driving.
What
You consider the driving to be boring…but you want automatic throttle to be there!?
Works out to be $48.00 on Catch with the $15 off promotion and Club Catch free trial.
15 off is targeted meaning you already had a catch account for a period. A great chance that account already used up the free trial.
Otherwise what's the point of register an account and never use it. Unless you are only waiting for being targeted.
Good price but not the best…
Always been $63 on Amazon, express free delivery - https://www.amazon.com.au/Nintendo-Mario-Kart-8-Deluxe/dp/B0…
Possibly a further $10 off - Get $10 off when you spend $39 or more on eligible items through the Amazon Shopping mobile app only.
Have any of you received a game from Amazon AU that is without the outer wrapping and looks preowned? I personally only started to buy switch games on Amazon and have no problems but I have noticed in many of the reviews people complaining about getting sent 2nd hand games.
Perhaps they are returns?
Not really sure. Reading their reviews makes me nervous that my next game purchase from Amazon will be like theirs. In this lockdown it is not as easy to return stuff as used to. Maybe those people bought the games from other sellers, they didn’t state clearly.
I recall reading that not all Switch games ship sealed in shrink-wrap in general. The ones that aren't wrapped are probably liable to pick up a bit of wear and tear.
I've bought almost all of my physical games off Amazon (about 15?) and they all came shrink wrapped, cartridges seem fine with no scratches, and no issues with any of the games
Good to hear. Did you buy them when they were newly released?
Only 2 were newly released I think.
Maybe if you are really unlucky you might get some dodgy copy but it shouldn't be toooo hard to get a refund (eventually)? But I think most people keep their cartridges in good condition, like if I had returned mine and you ended up with that copy I doubt you'd be able to ever tell it was used!
(ofc I'd be shit angry if they sent me a 2nd hand one lol for full price)
Still, seems quite unlikely for this to all happen.
@sakurakiks: Yeah, I baby my cartridges too, I never touch the metal part and I don’t force them in. I rarely touch them with my bare hands lol.
Completely agree with you, I don’t mind getting a used one if it is an out of print/rare game that I know beforehand it is a 2nd hand one but not when you are paying for a new one yet you get a pre-owned one.
I also never received the unwrapped. But actually I don’t care as you can see the card chip and know weather it’s being used before or not. And they are very good with returns
quick, insert "$63 for a 2017 game is not a bargain!" comment.
answer: it's still worth more than $63 of fun.
