Hi. I am looking to replace old carpet from a house on stump. I got following quote.
-100 SQM area to replace carpet
-12.3mm Laminate HDF AC4 Wax Coated - 3mm premium underlay - Matching quads - $19 / SQM + GST
-110 SQM area for materials (10 sqm extra recommended)
-Installation $15 / SQM + GST. So for 100 sqm which comes to $1500 + GST.
-Trim cover and trimming the door if required will be $50
Roughly around $4100 to $4300 including GST was the total given to us.
That price quote does not include pulling and disposing the old carpet, underlay and nail strip. We have to do it ourselves or pay additional $800 (we are still required to move furniture.
I will appreciate if someone can tell me this price quote is reasonable, or any other suggestions?
Seems reasonable enough
I would pay for the carpet disposal and removal, how are you planning to dump 100sqm of old carpet??
Also, that job is surprisingly time consuming, better that they do it. Removing all the old carpet tacks is annoying to do.
Are they confident the subfloor is in good condition? Does the carpet squeak when you walk on it?
