    BTW Amaysim have been very generous with extra data freebies during Covid so it's possible they may give out bonus data packs again but not guaranteed

  • Sorry bit off topic. I moved to Amaysim from Optus recently and noticed when I receive or make a call, connection drops from 4G+ to H+. It comes back to 4G+ as soon as call is complete.

    Anyone else is experiencing this?

    Spoke to Amaysim and they are sending a replacement SIM but I think it may not be SIM issue.

    I tried to switch on/off WiFi calling. But the option to enable VoLTE on Amaysim is greyed out/disabled.

    I am using Samsung Note 9.

    • sounds like a network reception issue not sim.

    • Amaysim doesnt support Volte so wheb u make the call, it will move to 3g. Only boost is cheap provider that support volte along with big 3

      • Ohh noo.. moved to Amaysim only to get more data for all these Teams video calls for work.. I use mobile data (dont have WiFi, renting) for work and work laptop loses connection when I receive/make call.. guess I have to port out soon..

        I got a new number and has not put into use yet. I try to remember to start to use it on 3rd OCT with a hope of reset for a new 28 days and then jump to Kogan VIC 90 days plan on the 31st.

      It should auto reset when you start using it. If it does not, contact support via chat and they will fix it up for you. BTW this is a known issue and it is in the OP

      • ok thanks. I thought preactivated just meant you dont need to activate the sim once you put it in to the phone, but not that your countdown for usage has started the minute you place the order. But good to know it resets once it makes a connection.

    Just got an email saying they're increasing the quota for this from 5GB to 10GB for free.

    • Hope they email that to everyone. No change for me yet.

    • Never got an email about quota increase, but after using 5GB it now says there is supposedly 20GB remaining (although the usage bar graph is still labelled 5GB). Auto-renew is off and this month's charges is $0.00.

      Anybody else seeing 20GB?

  • Same for me did not track, opened ticket, CR responded 6 days later with a scripted response (asking if the purchase is for a new SIM despite the invoice provided, and whether the sim is activated within 30 days of purchase).

    After my reply (new sim, activated on purchase) another what appears to be a scripted response that they have submitted claim to the merchant, will take 30-90 days to resolve, and something about waiting for the cooling off period (I think there are none?), that the item has not been returned (how can I do that?), and Amaysim's analytics attribute the sale to CR (is that something I control? what happens if it doesn't?).

    Haven't really had deals not track, this is the first, fingers crossed let's see what happens. I wonder if the new Firefox tracking protection feature is the culprit?
