Sold by Amazon uk and free delivery with prime. It's usually around $1400 at local retailers. Reviews says it's better than roborock for pet hair, so I'm gonna bite the bullet.

I've had 2 neatos (XV21 and D85 i think)
They each lasted 2 years until the battery needed replacing.
Brush heads/filters are much more expensive than their xiaomi/roborock brands.
A simple o-ring for the LIDAR sensor broke which was $40+ to have the part shipped.I've been much happier with Roborock S6 than Neato. Consumables are cheaper, if/when parts to break down they'll be cheaper too.
The app is also continually updated and works with google home.
I have 2 D85's and love them, does the Roborock clean better?
I buy filters from Aliexpress or eBay for a few dollars
I have the D7. Lidar motor broke twice. First time i returned the device and got a new one, second time i just fixed it myself with a replacement motor i got off ebay.
I think the when the Neato gets stuck say under the couch it presses on the lidar circle which stops it spinning. This then burns out the motor. So i recommend buying more of the magnetic strips and make sure it cant get jammed under anything.
Overall the device is great and the APP is amazing. Google home is great so you can just say ok google vaccum the house and off it goes.
$80 delivery if not prime members. kills the deal a little.
maybe get another roborockJust join Prime for a month then, it's 6.99.
Not to sound rude or judgemental - but in what scenario would these be useful?
People who don't want to vacuum? I have a first gen xiami/roborock and basically only use the dyson for spot cleaning, very very very rarely need to vacuum the apartment in a traditional sense.
For us it's largely a time-saving measure. Means we don't have to do the vacuuming, just make sure the floors are cleared of 'snagging' obstacles. The bigger thing in that sense though, is that it means the vacuuming is done every day, which is particularly excellent because it keeps the pet fur at bay.
So on a whole, it helps keep down even the little bit of dust and dirt that otherwise builds up over a couple of days - it's just nice and the house feels cleaner :)At the end of the day, I guess it's a question much in line with "In what scenario would a dishwasher be useful?" - You can do without it just fine, but it's nice to not have to do it and buys you time to do things that are more fun/interesting.
If you are asking that question you have never owned a Roborock. Seriously the best $500 I have ever spent. Had mine for around 3 years. Last time I vacuumed my house was before I bought it. If you have better things to do with your time than vacuum your house then try one.
How often do these robo vacums have to be emptied? I'd guess pretty often with lots of dog hair about? I'd quite often fill my original v11 completely vacuuming once a week or so.
I have two cats and i would say every second or third day. Vaccume is ran every day. Its a simple process to empty and replace.
Best robovac on the market. Even tested to be better than Dyson
Bought the Neato (Nick named 'nerdo' in our house) XV21 about 7 years ago, and was brilliant. At the time almost all other robot vacuums just bounced around a house, so the neato always did a good job, was faster, never missed an area, and just needed the batteries changed every couple of years.
When time came to get new batteries again I decided to try the Xiaomi. Just as good, and frankly better. I am sure the latest Neato is excellent, but I have to say the Xiaomi does everything we need and is cheaper….
Keep in mind this does not replace your existing vacuum. You still need that to do skirting boards and those hard to reach spots. But a robot vacuum means you can have that do the whole house daily, and the manual vacuum much less frequently than you used to.
Didn’t they just announce newer models?
Better than Chinese models?
My Neato XV-12 has been going strong for 6.5 years, with a new set of batteries and charger in that time. I wouldn't mind upgrading to something with an app and side brush, but this one just keeps on going.
