What is better? I have heard the Mavic Mini loses connection mid-flight randomly? Mini is obviously longer in battery life but does not have collision detection sensor.

I own a Spark and have flown the Mini and it’s hard to decide what one I like more. The Spark feels better built and seems to have more features where the Mini folds up into a small package to carrying.
I own a Mini and I was unfortunate to have received a defective unit where the front propellers would hit the drone body. I found similar cases online saying it's due the the lightweight causing the arms to flex. I sent it to DJI for repair and the problem seems to be fixed now.
In terms of connection, the Mini and Spark both uses WiFi transmission. However, the Mini (FCC version) has a stated max range of 4km, whereas the Spark has max range of 100m (with phone) or 2km (with remote, sold separately). In my experience, the Mini tends to have issue passing over 800m in urban areas.
