Mulan $34.99 @ Disney Plus (Subscription Required)

719

Usually you would have to wait for the cinema to see new blockbusters and pay around $20 per person.

Now you can access Mulan for a total cost of just $43.98 and the whole family can watch!

You also get to watch in the comfort of your lounge instead of watching on the massive screen and cinema sound.

NB: Possibly only a bargain for families of 4+

Personally, I’ll be waiting till it hits the $1 weekly shelf at Video EZY.

    • +10

I've got a mate with two VCRs that don't have the copy scrambler on them, if I give him two blank tapes and a rented copy of Mulan he'll make two copies and keep one for himself in exchange. How long is Mulan? I only have blank tapes capable of recording 2 hours in SP, and he says he won't bother copying in EP or LP.

    • +1

You only had to wait until Tuesdays and all DVDs were $1 at our local video store.

    • I agree. It's overpriced

  • +6

    Dishonor on your cow.

    • Yeah so can join for a month if no free offers are going to see all of Disney's content :)

      Price $8.99 .

  • +8

    scraping the barrel for bargains

forgot to add, you can DIY popcorn and save $10!

  • +11

This movie is definitely on my Radarr.

  • I will wait another 3 months

  • +5

FYI - there is a big move to boycott this film due to the lead actress being a mouth piece for the CCP.

    • +1

Everyone, who can be leveraged, is a mouthpiece for CCP. I doubt this artist, on brink of international stardom, preferred to be embroiled in politics. You think you could resist?

    • +1

Do people boycott films with actors / actresses being a mouth piece for the Republicans or Democrats?

      • You mean there are Hollywood Republicans other than Tim Allen?

In all seriousness, the Chinese chick’s comments re: Hong Kong are a little different to a lib/dem disagreement.

  • +2

I think there's been a bit of controversy surrounding this movie. The actors were making statements in support of the suppression of democracy in Hong Kong or something? People have been boycotting it I think.

    • -2

Yes. In separate news, heard that Jackie Chan also did the same. But eventually his property was still seized :(

  • +3

Waited this long, why not wait another 3 months? Save the money.

  • +3

Not a bargain since this is it's normal price, you still need to pay a Disney+ subscription as well and it'll be free for all subscribers on December 4th.

  • +5

Will not be watching this despite my love for the animated release in 1998, as the actress portraying Mulan, Liu Yifei, is a supporter of the Hong Kong Police and their (violent) actions towards the pro-democracy protestors just one year ago.

I'm confused, protesters good in hk but bad in amerika?

      • -3

        AmeiKKKa
Bush Snr Lies - War in Iraq
Clinton Lies - War in Yugoslavia
Bush Jnr Lies - War in Iraq
Obama Lies - War in Syria
Trump Lies - War in China

        • From that it seems logical that if Hilary had got in there'd be War in Yugoslavia.

        • Antifa is not really concerned about reality and are protesting / looting / damaging property for their political ideals.

      • LOL

      • +1

Protestors are good wherever there is injustice.

        Looters are scum.

      • because amerika said so

  • +4

    Absolutely no bargain here.

Also don’t pay for it! If there is a market for pay on demand when you already have a subscription it won’t be long before this is the standard like Foxtel and DLC in games.

  • +1

$44 for a movie at home?

I wouldn't watch even it is free

  • +3

    No bargain. Why upvote this?

  • +1

It doesnt have anywhere near the charm of the original

Especially since they cut out all of the songs

  • Won't be supporting this communist actresses crap. CCP can suck it.

  • +2

    Absolutely not a bargain.

  • 😆

  • +3

I'll wait for the linux iso

  • Not a bargain since I think that makes it the most expensive film to be streamed to my loungeroom.

  • We have to have active subs and then pay on top. Eventhough this is the only way to watch Mulan.. still not a bargain ihmo

  • We should not be pushing for this. Isn't this why Foxtel is going broke? No one likes DLC included in streaming services.

  • +1

Noone pays $20 got a movie ticket. Especially ozbargainers. Not a bargain

  • I'm not buying this, not interested in Mulan at all but there's a theory that this is a testing of the water for a possible Black Widow release straight onto Disney+. I'm guessing that isn't going to happen judging from the reactions here.

    • I wouldn't base anything on the cheapskates here haha. I'm sure Disney did a lot of research on the maximum amount that suckers will pay

  • +1

Require Disney plus and still need to pay full price? Not a bargain at all

    • agreed, not a bargain.

  • This needs to be discouraged. First there were a million different sub services, now they're charging extra on top?

Then there's the controversy around pro-CCP actors involved, which is crap.

  • +1

    Scam.

  • Funny how ppl relate politics to a Disney movie. Just like how Western world made face masks political.

  • How is this post still here? Considering

    1. It's not a deal/bargain
    2. Post is heavily downvoted
    • -3

      Post is still here because;
      1. Ozbargain says these posts are deals
      2. Who cares about whether it's downvoted. If you don't like it move on. It's not a popularity contest. You are allowed to neg for having an "Issue with product" (or retailer), but I think you'd agree that your issue is that Ozbargain allows these deals and you don't like it. So in reality your neg breaches the rules.

  • -3

I'm not really familiar with this movie. Is it historically accurate, eg do they slaughter and imprison the Uighirs or massacre Tibetans?

I know this won't get tagged as off topic (as it should), and will probably get flagged as trolling and deleted. My posts on this usually do, despite mods allowing others to post similar nature comments on meat deals, Christian book store deals etc. I guess if I was talking about crimes of the west it would stand. Let's see what happens.

Anyhoo, I can't find it any cheaper so upvote for me, but I personally will be waiting until I can watch it for free with my Disney plus subscription.

  • -1

free with my Disney plus subscription.

Besides you other poor souls are forced to pay $8.99 for a month to get the film .

    • Haha. You poor souls think you need a subscription to watch this? Or pay $$$.$$? What has happened to Australians? Watched it last night for free. Cheesy story but +++++ for production values.

  • Do not fall into this scam.

  • +1

    A subscription to a movie within a subscription service… it’s a subscribception…

Also, not a deal. Also, CCP mouthpiece that starring in this movie. Going to pirate this out of principle…

  • +1

Reverse bargain get $12 p/m back not to watch this for the next 3 months.

  • I think I can wait until it’s free on SBS-on-Demand.

  • Are there any deals for Disney+ ?

    Or just the annual deal.

  • Disney+ no atmos on Shield again, only DD+. Works fine on Netflix!

  • While true that this is a bargin, this is the case with all shows that are on streaming services.
