So it’s 40c less than last time you posted this. Is that really a bargain?

    • +2

If it was a bargain last time then unless we have had a period of deflation it would be?

      • This is posted monthly (by associated). Seems like the normal price to me. I didn’t neg this deal or anything.

For an aquarium I would still recommend the one with the cooling function. I use it with two USB powered computer fans (no way they could actually be used to cool a computer mind you) and can get 4-6 degrees cooler using nothing but evaporative cooling. Unless you have a chiller or keep your house at a constant temperature, it's the best solution I have found.

    • 308 Wifi?

Are you talking about 120mm/140mm PC fans?

      • +1

I think I have the 308 "old version" with no WiFi. Wifi doesn't seem necessary for what I use it for.

The fans are something like this https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2PCS-120mm-USB-Cooling-Fan-Silen…

My tank has a hinged lid so I just pin the fan between the lid and the tank and it works a treat. Also they actually are as silent as you can expect.

        • Thanks, not a bad idea. Will definitely consider this if I find my new 7ft starts to get too warm this summer.

          • @brannor: No worries. I am not sure how well it will work on a big tank like yours but it works for my small tank. I think it is just a matter of displacing the warm moist air on the surface of the water with dry air. When I was logging the temperature, I actually didn't see any difference between adding the second fan in addition to the first. To complete the picture I also have a pump which puts out the water on to the surface so there is a fair bit of of surface agitation which may contribute to how well it works.

  • Rep, is there any major difference between the 306T and the 306A.
EDIT - looks like the 306A has wifi and is dual relay.
    Any deal on the 306A

    • +1

the big difference is itc-306A has wifi and dual relay, which is safe for your aquarium. It's not in deal now.

      • Thanks.
Any plans for a sale on the 306a soon?

        • Regret it will not be in deal in the near future.

  • I have the 306a for aquarium. Works well. Wanted it as backup incase of faulty heater, but is has an alarm that you can't disable if it doesn't reach set point. So now it controls temperature, and heater thermostat set higher as backup.

    App graphing function is crap.

If you don't want alarm, you could set alarm value to be high, then it will not alarm you.
