In my opinion, it's quite a steep price to pay for a movie that must be attached to an ongoing subscription and will be releasing to all other Disney Plus subscribers in early December. But I know a lot of people who have been waiting a long time to watch it and are happy to pay to finally get the chance to watch it.
Will You Be Paying $35 for Early Access to Mulan on Disney Plus?

I'm paid $35 for it even though it will be included as part of my subscription fairly soon because I don't want to miss out on the discussion at my weekly mass get together in Melbourne.
It was a good dream…
It will be as good as all other remakes…shit!
It's been on my Radarr for a while now, I don't think it'll cost anywhere near $35 though.
Yes, will be watching it at a friend's house.
Not really interested for me, might watch it at some point if it comes out cheaper/easier somewhere else, or off the platform. But honestly I liked the original that I'd probably like to rewatch that instead.
Not a fan of supporting this business model or Disney.
Funnily enough, going to the Winnie the Pooh page still redirects to the homepage. https://winniethepooh.disney.com/
I'd be less of a fan if Disney actually released it at cinema during a pandemic. If it drives more people to cinemas then it could drive up infections, thousands of people could unnecessarily die in the long run. And it's 2020, you should be able to watch new releases at home by now when they are new. Some people are willing to pay to see a new movie but don't particularly like going to the cinema.
So for someone with no Disney at all, it's $8.99 for 1 month + $35 to see the movie?
Yes, that's correct. $8.99 + $34.99 = $43.98.
Check the classifieds, I'm sure someone will try selling slot on disney+ subscription (with mulan included).
Check reddit, I'm sure you'll find someone selling a dodgy disney+ account (with mulan included)
Check piratebay …
I love Disney Plus and will pay for it for the rest of my life because Disney will never sell The Simpsons, but no way. I'm going to wait for a friend to do it so I can watch it at their place. You have to draw the line somewhere in your budget.
No option for "alternative" source?
No kidding. Though I'd wait, I think ripping DRM HDR content is still more art than science.

The speed with which premium tv shows on netflix/hbo/amazon/etc appear in torrent websites makes me think any kiddie script hacker can do it in a few seconds.
Sure, but to my eyes there's noticeable compression on 4k rips compared to actually streaming it. Maybe I'm just not seeing good rips. If you have a bad internet connection then the rip will be better than the stream for you.

I'm pretty blind when it comes to that stuff, so I can't really comment.
It's also not obvious (to me) whether it's a ripping issue or a re-encoding issue by the people re-distributing the rips. Lots of the kiddie scripters do silly stuff, just to get bragging rights of being first, etc.
@AustriaBargain: just letting you know
WEB-DL - Untouched from the streaming site
Webrip - recompressed and can be lower quality.
@samfisher5986: Still though, I see compression on dark scenes, stars against a black sky seems really hard to compress. I know that there is a degree of this even on blu rays, but it's even worse in some of these rips compared to the stream. Probably within days though a really great rip is made and added. I just hate not knowing if I'm getting a subpar experience in terms of compression. It's bad enough getting a subpar experience in the movie itself.
@AustriaBargain: What I'm saying is, if you download WEB-DL, its an exact copy of the stream. So if the WEB-DL has bad compression, so will the stream which means you'll need the bluray if it exists.

Alright, that's it! Dishonour! Dishonour on your whole family! Dishonour on you! Dishonour on your cow! :p
No one is comparing the cost to the price of cinema tickets?
I pay $12 a ticket for the cinema experience with recliners. $34 to use my own electricity, internet and on top of what I'm already paying for subscription is daylight robbery. Not to mention you could get free streaming everyone from day dot.
I'll probably watch it for free at work.
Nope, way too expensive. What a silly price.
The movie was just ok. Too Disney-ish without the charm. I don't think its worth $35 (for 1-2 people).
Correction : the movie was bad. Why did they try to shoe in a lecture on girl power and 2 bad guys? I missed Eddy Murphy's Mushu. I want my money back.
i wouldn't even have to pay $35 to watch this at the cinema with recliners. $35 is too much and the kids are more interested in the cartoon.
Storyline had heaps of wtf moments, the whole plot and new villain is over the top in a bad way, 0 character development, kids might like it but then i wouldn't want them to see all the violence, whilst for an adult audience it's no LOTR or Kingdom of heaven, eventho that's where it felt it wanted to be most of the time minus all the blood and heads on a spike. Also not a fan where the whole movie was in English, felt so strange.

The animated movie was also entirely in English …
I wouldn't watch Mulan not even if they pay me the $35
Yeah, myself and another friend who shares my account will be going halves in it.
