Euky Bear Vaporiser $43.19 | Taav Vaporiser $44.09 @ Chemist Warehouse

240

It's Hayfever time again. Warm air Vaporisers on sale in Chemist warehouse: Euky Bear $43.19 and Taav $44.09 (RRP $69.95). Both machines work in similar ways, can be used as humidifiers or as dissufers

I have a Euky Bear Vaporiser at home.
- For me, this item has worked wonders for my hayfever
- For my pregnant wife, she was complaining with air quality at home (too dry?). I don't get it but got this machine as suggested by maternity bloggers and it miraculously worked for my wife!

Pros:
- Kids friendly
- Works for hayfever
- Spits out warm air (if this is a thing you like)

Cons:
- Not good looking compared to fancy diffusers in the market
- Leaves black residuals every 1-2 days which I have read online that it is normal and is not harmful

Would like to add if you add the eucalyptus oil in the vaporiser, make sure you don't have the AC on (it was set on remote timer..). It condenses the vaporised mixture and it leaves stains on your walls and windows. Had to painstakingly scrub (yes scrub, not wipe) to get it off all 4 walls should this mixture dry up if you didn't notice all the water stains on your walls in the morning. The recommendation is to put it away from the wall but I doubt that would have prevented it anyway plus who has a table/stand in the middle of the room to plonk this beast on?

In any case, still recommend the product, helped my kids sleep through those sniffly nights.

    • Surprising, I put in eucalyptus every night and have the heater on for my child. Its the perfect combo as the heater dries the air and the vaporiser humdifies so its never dry or too humid. Will have to check for stains but I am sure I havent seen any. I do have it on a table about a metre from the walls and windows though

    • Is it the case if you use Vicks liquid too?

  • Euky vs Taav. Any thoughts/experience?

    • Avoid the Taav one. My aunt has one and it's got a really plastic smell.

    • My last research pointed me towards Euky. Have used it for well over a year with zero issues and would highly recommend. All of my families have also bought one for their use and have not heard of any complaints.

    • We have used both.
Tried the euky first which had a strong plastic smell. Also developed some kind of crust even after cleaning. Contacted customer support who offered a replacement but I needed to provide receipt (which was already thrown out) so couldn’t do much with it.

Bought the vaav after and haven’t had any issues with it. Didn’t experience the plastic smell which was mentioned in an earlier comment.

      • I also have the Taav one and haven't experienced any plastic smell either.

Was told by the manager at a Chemist Warehouse to get the Taav as that one had less returns than the Euky.

There's also an on/off switch on the Taav.

Also, from memory the Euky one wasn't made in Australia, whereas the Taav is Australian made.

      • My Euky one purchased earlier this year had no plastic smell so far. Maybe experience varies.

        • Thanks for replies all. So in a nutshell, looks like it's going to be luck of the draw!

  • I like this Euky Bear Vaporiser so far
    However I don't understand why it doesn't have a power on/off switch
There have been times where I forgot to switch off and the water have been dried out
Now I need to add another timer plug so to auto turn off in the morning

    • I think Euky tried to hide the button to be kids friendly but ended up not friendly for adult lol

  • I've got the Euky and used it for about 6 months without cleaning it and it didn't explode.
