AU Compatible Band for Motorola Moto G8 Power Lite Phone?

Hello Friends,

I am having hard to time understand whether the below bands as listed for Motorola Moto G8 Power Lite Phone would make it compatible with AU mobile service providers?

I am getting a decent price for $180 but it says an international version:

LTE Cat4 (Bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20) TD-LTE (Bands 38, 39, 40, 41)

Cheers

    • Thanks it was really helpful. So if mobile has only 1 matching band, would that mean it would work with specified service provider?
e.g.: considering B3 1800 MHz FDD [Telstra, Optus, Vodafone] and for mobile it has Band 3 (Bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20), would that imply it would be compatible with all of these?

If your mobile phone only supports Band 3 you should assume you will get very poor connectivity, and a lot of frustration trying to get a decent signal. I would choose a different model that supports all the major Bands.

Try to find one that supports Band 28, it's the most important one IMO. Have you considered the Nokia 5.3?

        • Thanks for your inputs but somehow it didn’t appeal me, may be because of aesthetics compared with Moto Powerlite and Xiaomi Note 8T

    • sorry mate the model is not listed under this site.

Might be a little too late however jb has the phone for $199.20 which you can get down to $189.24 with officeworks pbg.

    • Thanks much mate for your inputs. Do you reckon if I should go for Powerlite @Office Works or $219 for Xiaomi Note 8T 64 GB @ Kogan?

I know the note 8t has excellent ppi density(fullhd+) but isnt it a global model? JB has their entire motorola range on 20% off. The note 8t seems like a great phone for the price with that display.

I am looking at https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/xiaomi-redmi-note-8t-64gb-blue-… and it does say its compatible with all major Australian network providers. Seems like a great buy. There's also the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro 64gb which is about $60-70 more with a better chipset and 6gb ram. (also a 128gb/6gbram variant). I would go with any of those two over the motorolas tbh.

You can probably ask for more input in this thread https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/564648#comment-9276586 as they're discussing the motorolas at the moment.
