Kogan 27" QHD IPS USB-C FreeSync 75Hz Monitor (2560 x 1440) $399 + Delivery @ Kogan

140

Hi OZBs,

Have been looking for a Monitor for quite sometime. This one seems a good deal for QHD 27" Monitor from Kogan. Not sure how Kogan compares to Samsung's etc.

Cheers

    thats one ugly looking stand

    • Just a budget Acer Predator stand.

Purely based off the specs provided, it seems meh for the price. I wouldn't expect it to be too outstanding, nor too crappy.

AOC Q27P1 seems like a better budget option with the same specs for ~$60 less.

EDIT: The AOC one has a 60Hz display + no Free-Sync - however, at that price point, it's hard to beat. This Kogan one also isn't an IPS panel - it's an AHVA one (meaning that it'll be relatively faster than IPS, but lose colour accuracy)

    • It's not bad for the price (it's 1440p), but why is Kogan advertising it as IPS.

Not to sound rude, but there's a lot more factors than "Ooh, it has a 2K display.. that means it's good"

Also I believe the 75Hz is only obtained by overclocking, so YMMV. VX2758 a better deal for $69 more (although not in stock atm)

    • AHVA (Advanced Hyper Viewing Angle) is actually just AU Optitronics' version of IPS. It's not related to VA. For all intents and purposes it's no different to IPS.

Samsung also has their version of IPS which they call PLS (Plane to Line Switching). They're different badges on what is 99% the same tech.

  • Did you miss out on the Dell deal for $360?

  • I remembered it used to be $299. I bought one just before end of June for tax return.

    • Kogan prices change frequently + drastically - bought a microphone for $15 (the supposed RRP was ~$90). It went up to $40 about a week after purchase.

    • @pengruijun - How is the performance? Have you found any remarkable difference between budget QHD (i.e. this one) and other brands' FHD on 27"?

      • there is no different as I can realize. even compare with my office Dell QHD.

        • thanks, I have been muddling between budget QHD or FHD for 27".

          • @Sloppyfingers: Rule of thumb - you should be choosing QHD over FHD at 27" and over

  • Still to expensive for Kogan. Just the thought of goung through their customer support, if something is wrong, give me chills. Actually, I wouldn't want to look at that name every day and remember their awful customer service!
