Just came across this deal on Reddit via CheapAssGamers (thanks to kobe92) This card is only for North American accounts. It says it's currently 53% off.

PAYPALCA the codeword is only valid if you change your address to a Canadian address and checkout using PayPal.

This bought the total to $37.71AUD.

I used a Macca's store in Toronto for the address.

These codes will stack, so you can buy multiple cards to last years. I received the PS+ Code instantly in my inbox.

This is quite a cheap price for a 1 year subscription to PS+. Cheaper than the previous deal which was $50.39AUD, back when the AUD was low.

Hoping this will help everyone still in lockdown.

Instructions on making a NA account can be found here: https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2018/12/guide_how_to_create_…

  • any word on if they will hand out PS5 games when it launches?

    • -3

We don't even know the price of the ps5 and you want them to give you free ps5 games? Common sense says no, maybe in a few years when there are enough ps5 games.

      • +3

well, when the PS4 launched we immediately got free PS4 games on PS+ on day 1. Same for the Vita launch. I don't see why it would be an outlandish enquiry if this continued to the next console.

I think the price of the console is irrelevant on whether Sony will hand out free games. They used to give 6 games out, 2 for PS3, 2 for Vita and 2 for PS4. They'd just be giving 2 back. And they would only be indies anyway.

        • By that I meant we know stuff all about the console apart from what it looks like, supposedly still 2 months out from a rumoured release date.

As for free Indies sure we may get those if they are crap enough lol

          • @FeZZa21: Well we don't know the price of Xbox Series X either. But we already know MS Game Pass will include games for XSX.

If I'm buying a PS5 it would make no sense to me to buy PS+ if all I'm going to get for it is two PS4 games a month. I think they have to give PS5 games. The question is whether they will have enough ready to give in the early months.

  • Does this stack to your existing Aussie PSN account? I think I need a noobs guide. Or do you have 2 PSN accounts running parallel?

    • +3

No. Its a separate account and it won't stack. If you primarily play on your AU account don't bother with this.

    • +2

You'll need two accounts. But the PS+ will carry over to your Aus account.

      • How to switch from secondary to primary with this plus membership. Might be the dumbest question but I am confusioned.

        • +1

You just need to login with the account that has PS Plus, ensure that account is set to the console as the primary account. Then, other accounts on the console can enjoy PS Plus. If it is for your own use, it's pretty much set. There are some catches:

          1. The free games are NA region ones. Even if it is the same title, it doesn't mean it is the same version. What that means is that let's say Sony later decided to give out a game you own or used to own (in AU version), you will still have to download that game again.
          2. The main issue with having PS Plus in a different region is that your save files of existing games won't necessary work (in most cases). A small number of games offer save game conversion while some simply don't.
          3. It doesn't extend your AU PS Plus, hence all the games you collected so far will become unplayable (assuming your AU PS Plus subscription has expired) until you renew the AU PS Plus again.

If you have an AU PS Plus running out soon, make sure you finish playing the free games you want to play before it expires if you want to embark on a different region's PS Plus.

      • Sadly, not all features. Cloud saves will not be available.

  • +1

Can you still play the NA PS+ games on your main account with the NA account activated as primary?

I know you won't get the same games which can be good and bad depending on the offerings in NA vs Aus PS+.

How long is it valid for so I can use it when my sub ends?

    • If you downloaded the PS+ games on your NA account then you'll only be able to play them if that account is active with PS+.

I've found the games have been the same over the past two or three years.

I'm unsure on how long this sale is valid for.

      • Ahh thanks, I just realised it's not ideal since if you don't have PS plus on your main account all the PS plus games you've accumulated are unplayable.

Is this correct or does it still allow me to play my PS plus games on my main Aus account?

        • That's correct. Those games won't work on your Aus account.

        • You can play NA PS+ games on your main account or any accounts on the same PS4/Pro console. However, you cannot play any AU PS+ games you accumulated previously (once your AU PS+ subscription expired).

There is another catch though. The NA version of the game is a different version. For example, Ghost of Tsushima NA version is different to Ghost of Tsushima AU version (even if the game itself is completely the same). Not only it means you need to download the game again (say if you already have the AU version on disc, but Sony offered it free on PS Plus later on), the save files may not be compatible.

I've been using SEA PS Plus for 2 years now (cheaper than this one, but Sony now closed the loophole by bumping up the price). It's not ideal, but it's okay if you do purchase Sony first party exclusives and do not really care about those PS Plus 'free' games that much (or once you played them, you won't revisit them later on). For the games I would revisit, I either have the discs or the digital versions.

However, now that SEA PS Plus discount is gone, I do plan to switch back to AU PS Plus. We are talking about ~$10 difference now when PS Plus AU is discounted.

    Surprisingly easy. Thanks OP :)

    code did not work

  • How do you change your address? Nice price!

    • At the checkout process. There's an option to input an address.

It was at the same stage where you choose payment method.

      • I put in Canada Ontario, choose PayPal express and put in code but said it wasn't valid.

        • Same here. Code not working. Are we missing something?

Also I have 28 degrees card which there is no conversion fee if I pay in US dollars. It works out slightly cheaper than the aus price.

My apologies. It worked. I didnt tick paypal express as payment which was the reason the invalid code message came up.

After conversion it came to $36.70. Bargain!
          Thanks op.

          Proof of it working

          • @Bang1: I ticked PayPal express but when i put in the code it said it was invalid. Bugger

      • Code doesn't work

  • +1

Okay this deal is working though you need to go to the second payment screen and select PayPal as the payment option and then apply the discount code.

Just purchased myself one 30 seconds ago for $37.71 AUD

  • +1

Took a few attempts to get the code to work but all good.

Looks like I'm all paid up until Aug 2023. Guess I forgot I stacked a couple last year as well…

  • +2

Thanks, all sorted until PS6 lol (2028) couldn't make the code work so just went with the 40.99 price

    • PS5 Pro, with PS6 planned on 2029…

      • 7 years has been the magic number. So I would say PS6 in 2027, and PS5 Pro in 2023.

  • Bought one and got my key. Then I realised this is the cheapest price it's ever been in USD, and bought another two. The second order I paid with a different credit card. It is "under review". No key.

I think it has triggered their anti fraud detection since I made a second order straight after. This is stressful.

    • Did yours go through yet? I just bought my first code and it's stuck "under review". Bit screwed if they expect me to verify a Canadian address or phone number…

      • my first one went through instantly. The second one needed to be manually reviewed, but I eventually got it without any fuss. I did submit a ticket for it though.

If I know more about the future of PS+ I might buy another 2 more. But if they nerf PS+ by removing more games I'll be mad.

  • +3

Appears the price has gone up to US$32 which equates to AU$44.69. Discount of AU$3.58 brings it to AU$41.11. As always guest check-out doesn't work with discount codes.

    • Ah damn!

    • Ah so that's why it didn't work for me because I used guest checkout

    • Still a good price, but I'll stick the 3 I bought last night. Was considering picking up 2 more years. I don't think the price will be beaten again unless our dollar shoots up. $30 USD was the lowest I've ever seen it for, and that was back when it used to cost $50 USD normally. It's $60 USD now.

    Done! Thanks OP!

Thanks OP - paid up till Dec 2024 now!

I thought this was called ozbargain not cadbargain

  • AUD$40.64 (US$29.43) using my BankWest card which I'm happy with :)

  • What are the downsides of going to US Server instead of Aus? Do I lose content that is synced to my AU account like my fifa content/in game items mainly for example? or is that linked to my EA account I guess?
