[iOS] Free: SSH Client WebSSH Pro $0 (was US$2.99) @ Apple App Store

2480

Never used this app but it did came under my radar. Seems like the last time it was free was Dec 07, 2017. I would say this is a genuine free deal.

  • Does anyone know how is this when compared to Terminus app?

    • I love Terminus, but can't justify the subscription for pro. Hopefully this is as good.

      • I was using terminus right now when I saw this.

Terminus pro really annoys me. Hope this all is better.

      • I just tried this one. Did not like it.

I don’t know the use, but I just downloaded it

    Awesome thanks!

I've been using Panic's Prompt 2, but this looks like a great freebie!

  • I used to use VSSH, I even paid for it. Now it’s no longer available. So this is going to be the replacement. Looks good so far as adding hosts but haven’t got to use it yet.

  • Is this one time payment or will they do in app subscription?

  • Is the seller name “Made in France!” What a cool name LOL

    • Arnaud MENGUS is the seller name

People pay for SSH terminals? :/

  • I did not like it. Free version of terminus app is much much better.

I’ll give it a go. I haven’t found an iOS terminal app that I really like but I don’t recall seeing this one before. Thanks OP.

operating linux from a touchscreen is always fun

What can one use this for?

    • +6

To connect to linux machines remotely.

      • Thanks. What can you do once you connect your mobile device to a Linux machine?

      • If I don't have the need of remote connection, what else can it be used for?

        • +1

Some devices such as routers, WiFi access points, media players/streamers, Android boxes, network storage etc. typically use SSH for inputting commands. In those situations though, it'd usually be easier to use a terminal application on your computer though.

Sometimes it's handy to be able to issue SSH commands to your home server/NAS or whatever device you want really when you're away from home.

  • Downloaded. Thanks OP!

Didn’t know I needed this, no idea what it’s for. Cheers op.

  • can't you just use terminal? nvm this is for the phone

  • At least it has port knocking which is premium feature of termius.

  • I’ll stick to telnet.
    Jk

If you need to ask what this is used for, then you obviously don’t need it.

  • Putty is all you need

    • +2

Putty is for Windows, so not a replacement for this.

Also, why even use Putty on Windows any more, now that Windows has Subsystem for Linux…just use native ssh.

      • +1

Exactly, Windows Power Shell can execute all ssh commands.

I use blink which is pretty great
Have prompt but not as instant as blink
Terminus wasn’t as good and definitely not worth a subscription - like who TF subscribes to a terminal

This app or any app claiming to be a web ssh is kind of a scary MITM risk TBH

  • Better or worse than Shelly?

  • Downloaded, thanks OP

  • it says "In App Purchases" - have they just switched their payment model?
