Skip Charging Service Fee Now?

Not a big deal, but I've noticed that Skip is now charging a service fee at my local coffee shop (literally started this week).

The cryptic way it's worded makes it sound like it could be store specific. But I suspect it's a general charge snuck in without the shop's knowledge.

In the end I bought my own cup and actually paid less than usual (surprised they accepted it in Victoria).

But, for people who use this app, have you noticed this and is it everywhere?

      I didn't ask them. I don't chat much anymore in Stage 4 (we're both wearing masks too) :-( but even if I did I'd like to think I'm not sure this is the topic I'd open with.

        Its stage 4, you can talk to people still. So you need to upgrade your grunts to words next time, as the only people that will really have your answer is the store. Surely you could have started with Hello, got a quick question about the skip ordering service, noticed there is a service fee these days, is this new?

        From the Skip website it appears this is added by Skip, so the place might not even know its happening to there orders being placed or they have made a choice to pass the service fees on to the customer now, instead of paying them.

    I just got this for the first time at my local cafe too (IGA, Baulkham Hills). I had a look at my previous invoices and I've never had it before.
