Getting some animals, and apparently they like sand baths.
Where can one get clean sand by the kilo, other than the beach (that's illegal, yes?)
Bunnings sell 25kg for $7, but I probably only want 3 kg…
Any good suggestions?

Hahaha!! I love it!! Childcare sounds expensive though… :(
And no matter how much you get out, there’s always more coming out of his shoes!!!
Beach is illegal but maybe it's more about how much you are taking?
2-3kg is less than a small bucket
Yeah, i'm after maybe about half a small bucket. No more than 5kg though. I don't have anywhere to store/put the rest. Is giving sand back to the beach illegal? Google does not know the answer to this…
“Know I can't bring another beach to the sand“
Lyrics of a song by Lloyd called Dedication to My ex. Always wondered about that line, but now it has a purpose.
Ha!!
Quartz is the most abundant mineral in the world. Nobody is going to miss a bucket.
Depends on the beach.
If it is a marine sanctuary or reserve, you cannot take anything, not even shells or seaweed.
If it is an unprotected beach, it's fine as long as you're not coming in with diggers and hauling out truck loads.
I live by a beach. People go there and fill buckets full of goodness knows what crap all the time.
Nursery?
Oh yep? Cheap?
Thank you. Most are 20-100kg but this one looks great & clean https://www.flowerpower.com.au/debco-horticultural-sand-9313… and $7.99. Thats probably a good maximum I'm willing to pay.
Cheaper than $7? Clean? Nowhere..
Try putting beach sand in a bag, you'll realise it's not clean!
Look up washed riversand. Smaller quantities are often available where you buy cacti, other succulents etc.
Go to any construction site and ask the foreman. If you approach nicely at the right time I'm sure they will help you. 3kg is nothing.
Typically look while they are bricklaying as they mix sand all the time
At Bunnings inside near where the seeds are.
Propergating sand 5L $6.10
This is perfect!! Thank you very much! Bunnings is much closer than flower power. Thanks bad wolf.
Just out of curiosity, what animals that like sand you mentioned?
