Correct
Not sure, my computer is over 12 years old so this would help speed things up I hope 😀
Any SSD is better than a HDD
$89 for Crucial MX500 500GB
$73.50 for Crucial BX500 480GBBX is also dramless but in many situations it doesnt matter
eg. i have a laptop with an nvme fast booter 240gb
if you slap one of these BX or Greens in the 2.5 slot as mass storage it doesnt really matter if its dramless
For a microserver that doubles up as a htpc does dram matter?
I just think the OS drive is on the way out and would love if it booted quicker.
Not really. It's certainly miles better than a HDD!
once the server is up is doesnt matter
a lot of server builds run off usb
True I suppose, but if it's doubling as an HTPC, a bit of extra nippy-ness on the boot drive will be nice.
I have WD green in my old i5 4670 and it boots to desktop faster than my brand new Ryzen 3600 with Kingston A2000 NVME SSD, both systems on fresh Windows install. Because the bios time of the Ryzen system is sooo much longer.
Sold out it seems now
Edit: price is now $64.50
my reading of this is that these are dramless while blue has dram
