I use inAudible for this, it's free and works well to back up your Audible library, with many handy options for the output files, but a quick search didn't find a dedicated website to download the program from. The closest I could find was a github page managed by someone other than the author: https://github.com/rmcrackan/inAudible
Another program that I found while trying to remember where I got inAudible from was OpenAudible, which is meant to be able to convert aax files and organise your audiobook library, but not having used it, you're on your own as to how well it does those things: https://openaudible.org/
this inAudible works well and it's free.
Thanks op
Am I to assume that it's not illegal if I don't distribute the mp3 file?
