  • This or the Samsung?

    • +5

      Go for Samsung PRO Endurance.

I bought this (SanDisk High Endurance) to use with my dashcam. It causes crash all the time.

End up to buy the Samsung card. And the dashcam stopped crashing.

      • +1

        Thanks saved me a purchase

    • +3

Samsung. Blackvue dashcam hate this card, will cause random restarts.

      • Thanks for the review. I was thinking to use this for my blackvue. Does any Samsung Evo Plus 860 work or Samsung Pro endurance suggested for cams?

        • +1

          Pro Endurance only

          • @nubzy: Currently on sale for $46.xx. A little cheaper compared to last sale, but still the best price. Will take over 2-4 weeks to deliver from US.

            • +1

@EnALup: They sent mine FedEx, only took a few days

              • @nubzy: Good to know. Bought one today.

  • How high? 🤔

    • +3

      So high🍁

      • Way high?

  • Is this OK for use in a Blackview dashcam?

    • +1

      Check my comment above.
Avoid using this card in dashcam.

I used it in my DR650S. It causes crash frequently.

    • +1

works perfectly in my DR900S 2CH. never had any issues or crashes.

      • Same never had any issues with this card.

      • The 32GB version works perfectly in my Viofo A119S and it's the same card I've been using for well over 2 years.

    • +3

NO. Used in Dr750s 2CH, caused constant restarts. Switched to Samsung Pro Endurance and no issues since.

      • Have same cam. How much you paid for ur card?

        • 50 bucks off Amazon, I posted a deal

  • +2

Hmmm… anyone used this for a Nintendo Switch?

    • High Endurance cards are a bit overkill for a Switch, just go with the Sandisk Ultra 128GB or 200GB on Amazon.

  • Found myself hoarding endurance SD cards since getting into raspberry pi. I actually don't have a use for this currently so I had to refrain from buying two of these. Thanks OP!

    • raspberry pi needs endurance SD cards?

      • Honestly in my experience, yes it does. Although a pi is built around using SD cards as the main form for storage, I have found it can kill lower end SD cards and is highly susceptible to data corruption. These cards are not made to operate in a way that the pi requires. Data is accessed too often causing the card to wear out or not keep up resulting in corrupted boot data. I just spend a little extra and get high endurance to help with this.

Two other sellers under this page with the price at $31.9. it’s not a good deal though.

    • Are you sure you're comparing prices with high endurance cards, or just regular 128GB SDs?

      • It's on the same page, it gives you the option of choosing other sellers who aren't Amazon.

        • I'm guessing if you pick one of those you'd be paying $5-10 shipping though.

    • Those sellers are just 15 cents cheaper…

    • Problem solved, the from-Amazon price is now $31.90 as well (although back-ordered).

  • Good for GoPro?

    • Should be, Class 10 which is what you need for 4K.

      • +1

Class 10 is not enough. You need V30 or U3.

  • Should be ideal for dashcams!

  • Been using this for my hardwired dashcam. 2 years 24x7 recording and still going strong!

    • May I ask how do you set it up as hardwired? I have got one from amazon, but don't know how to fit it to my car

      • +2

Depends on the brand. Mine is a viofo and there's a dedicated hardwire kit made by the manufacturer. If you're not confident, better engage an auto electrician

        • +1

          better engage an auto electrician

or a friend who knows stuff. i was quoted ridiculous price by 2 of them and I took matters to my own hands.

          • @kaleidoscope: any youtube video you used? for a bmw x3

            • +1

@alexlovesozb: There wasn’t a particular channel if I recall. Few videos here and there I referred to understand how to pop the trims and route the cable so it stays hidden from sight. Other thing is to refer to the manual to find out which fuse to connect to. If you’re really stuck try to ask it on an auto forum. 🤘

it wasn’t hard at all. just need bit of knowledge :-)

  • Is it okay?

    • You should've posted this on the other thread.

  • Although high endurance cards are theoretically better in dash cams , mine and my wife's car running on Sandisk Class 10 A1 (HCI) for past 16 months absolutely no issue. I test them every week to prove myself wrong about regular micro SD against High endurance but no luck….lol
From my opinion and experience, there is no advantage in High Endurance cards rather than theoretical recommendation and price.

    • I'm currently running a 256gb endurance card

With my amount of driving (and parking mode) on a front/rear cam I fill that up (completely overwriting everything on the card) every ~3 days.

How long does it take you and your wife to fill up your cards? I think the "need" for endurance comes down to this question.

Although I'm probably going to try a Samsung Evo Plus 512gb soon if I can find a deal on one.

      • +1

My wife drives a lot for her work while she drives to regional Victoria on regular basis, i drive a lot as well but difference is we have not enabled parking mode (we don't need it).

Currently I do loop recording on 10 or 15mins if i remember and my dashcam only overwrites from the oldest file so my 64GB is more than enough. Also both our cams record 1080P front and back , even with this i have never had any issue with space.

      • Is the deal with endurance SD cards that you write to it 24/7, or that you write a lot.
ALL Sandisk cards have lifetime guarantee anyway, so I doubt it's that you write a lot of data?

The specs say things like Up to 12,000 hours
Wtf is that? 12,000 hours writing 1 byte/min, or at 100mb/s?

  • Good for security cam?

    • Yes for the amount of time that the camera writes to the SD card…
