I put an order in for a media mod a week ago and it hasn't shipped. was looking around today and saw that it was $30 cheaper. So I canceled my order and put another order in, turns out this new order would get to me a day earlier than my previous order. LOL

  Don’t buy it, it’s a waste of money. I purchased one to use with display mod but display mod was spouse to be realised January.

  The mic on the media mod is no better than the one onboard of the unit. You loose the small size factor and waterproof, to get the battery out it is pain in the butt.

    i got it for the hdmi port. i leave the gopro in front of the room when i'm livestreaming as use it as a different angle. connect it to a hollyland 400 back to my atem mini pro. great little setup.

  If you're not in a rush for the item and you're a GoPro Plus member (think there's a free trial), it's $90.96c on the GoPro website.

  This looks like the only way to get a mic port on the Hero 8 so if you have already invested in a decent external video mic then its almost a necessity. Depends on how you use the camera I guess.

    yea. mainly a mic port and hdmi port. it's the only way to have gopro into hdmi. no other adapter works

        Thats the display mod. It's sold separately. And it's not out yet. it's been delayed till end of the year I think…
