Hi,
I am trying to apply for this card https://www.commbank.com.au/credit-cards/cashback-offer.html…
but there's no option to apply except through Netbank which requires you to be a CommBank customer in the first place. Am I missing a button?
Hi,

ahh man, I thought I could just do this all online
You need to call them or go into a branch if you're not a commbank customer to open a netbank account. Or just fill out the credit card application and go into a commbank branch.
I think Westpac and ANZ require you to go into their branch to activate a credit card.
I just tried to do this recently, and they wanted my passport to prove my identity, so I could create a netbank account.
When I got home I tried to apply for the CC and couldn't , rang a few times and got three different answers - back to the branch I went.
Third time lucky, into the branch to complete the application, only to discover my passport had expired ( few weeks since I started this application), and sorry sir we can't help you until you provide valid ID with the new replacement passport..
4 phones calles, three branch visits, and I am now choosing a different bank.
this sounds really horrific :/ seems like a hassle…
I wanted to apply for their low rate card to get the two hundred dollar cash back haha not sure if it's worth it anymore
There are other points/Cashback offers elsewhere such as Westpac are offering 100K+ points and so is ANZ I think.
I have ANZ already and I had a Westpac one in the last year so won't be eligible :[
"passport had expired"
Cool story.
I am now choosing a different bank
Hey, how about letting us Bro’s know which bank let’s you use expired ID’s to open an account.
Have a few friends who want to shift some money,…😂🤔🏦👮♂️🤦♂️
If you're not an existing customer, the whole process will be cumbersome. I tried once and they made me submit documents after documents and each time I had to go to their branch to submit them. I decided never to go again :-).
I have been with the bank for 30+ years and they still find it necessary to charge me an account fee whereas my other banks don't charge me an account fee. Bastards…
Not sure if this is in reference to CBA, however most banks waive the account keeping fee if you deposit a certain amount (usually $2000+) into it every month.
Yeah, i don't use the commbank account to deposit income and my income is not steady like a salary which makes things complicated. ING and Citibank and HSBC don't charge account fees.
Why not vote with your wallet and ditch them?
@ascorbic: becuz parents are with them and i like the instant transfers.
@Orico: Since Osko was introduced under the NPP, payments are done within 60 seconds between participating banks. You can transfer with either a PayID or BSB and account number. For example, NAB's Classic Banking account has no account fees and supports Osko. You don't have to do anything; the transfer will be done via Osko if the remitting and receiving bank accounts both support Osko.
Just be aware that Osko payments are sometimes not available for savings accounts. For example, Westpac's "Life" savings account only supports the old 1-2 business day transfers. In that case, it would be better to transfer to a Westpac transaction account then transfer to the savings account yourself.
You will need a CBA savings account of some form anyway to be able to transfer money to and from to make payments on the card easily. Otherwise you need to do it from an external account via BPay which is a hassle and can take days for the money to appear in the destination.
You can pay the card through a deposit ATM as well.
Means going outside, eeek, scary…
I see something in the middle that says that they can help by calling them
