Hi team,
Outside of waiting for an ad hoc sale, is there a place that is generally cheaper to buy Wusthof knives? I'm looking for a block set (without steak knives). Thanks.

IMO, don't waste money on a block and instead buy a couple of individual knives. That being said, i bought my 2 Wusthof knives from Amazon
Nah, I think you need the block to, safely, store the knives and so they are easily accessible when cooking. However, I do agree that you don’t need a huge number of knives. I, mainly, use the cooks knives and my kitchen scissors. The bread, and paring, knives occasionally.
Buy the knives you need, not a block. A 20cm chef knife, a bread knife and a paring knife will get you through 99.5% of all cooking.
Are you saying that OP would be worsthof buying a block?
I bought this from Mega Boutique: https://www.megaboutique.com.au/global-knives-santoku-fluted…
Paid full price, reluctantly, but it is worth every penny. It's my first decent knife and I had no idea I could cut vegetables without using any force. It's a life changer… LOL
They have Wusthof too.
I'd also suggest you don't buy a block but only the knives that you need, unless you find an amazing deal. You can buy something like https://www.megaboutique.com.au/wall-magnetic-holder/Knive-A… if you have other knives and want to fix them somewhere.

Manufacturers like Global and Wusthof have set ridiculous RRPs on knife sets and no-one really buys/sells them at those prices. When you go to look at the prices in-store or online, they'll all appear to be on permanent "sale", when in fact, it's the everyday price.
Prior to all this covid stuff, eBay used to do the 20% off sales for stores like Victoria's Basement, Kitchen Warehouse, etc. There hasn't been any 20% off eBay sales since Covid, but 20% off the "sale" price is pretty good. They might bring those sales back after the Covid restrictions are lifted.
Like everything else, if you need them urgently, then you're going to be paying more.
