Note: Coming from Amazon US,

I picked one of these up last month and haven't been playing anything else (stopped playing Call of Duty for Beatsaber and HL Alyx!)

Probably cheaper because of new version coming out later in the year I guess. But this is really good nonetheless!

The rift S is also cheaper

        • Which router do you have? My Telstra Smart Modem Gen 2 can't seem to hack the streaming.

          • @cc23: A netgear r7000. The router is downstairs and my study is upstairs. can play no problems. as described earlier

      • You can use the cable that comes with the headset as of a couple months ago.

        • Isn't it only 3 meters long though?

          • @Creamy: You can use any USB cable 2.0 or 3.0 as long as it supports data and power

Any idea, for cashback purpose, if the item is classified as Home Entertainment (4%) or Electronics and PC (0%), or any others?

    • I'm guessing video games as its under Video Games › Legacy Systems & Microconsoles

      So maybe 0%?

  • Tried out this set last weekend. Tracking is amazingly accurate. Resolution is just okay - ages away from PC screens and often blurry. You will start feeling the weight on your head after an hour of playing.

I'd highly recommend borrowing it from friends or colleagues and testing it before you buy. It's not for everyone.

  • PSA: Oculus has pushed a feature update that allows you to use the included USBC cable for Oculus Link and play PCVR games on the Quest. I believe due to the specs of the cable, it won't charge simultaneously while you're playing through oculus link.

I myself have been using Virtual Desktop and a dedicated 5Ghz wifi router with gigabit ethernet to play all my PCVR games wirelessly, and average around 16ms latency, which is pretty damn good for a straight forward wireless experience.

  • Hey guys,

Has anyone purchased the oculus and have the money just returned to your account.

I spoke to amazon about it and they said that there arent anymore in stock anymore eventhough i purchased it back in august 7.

    They decided on refunding me.

    • Really? I bet you're pissed off. Guess this will happen to me als

      • Update

They sent out my order today and but its gonna be delivered late by one week.

  • Did anyone get theirs? Mine hasn't shipped even though it said "stock coming 25th"

    • Nope, ordered mine on 22/8 and it still hasn't shipped yet. Hopefully they don't cancel my order.

Mine arrived last week. One think I noticed is the games are charged os so got transaction fee for every purchase. Changed to 28d card.

      • Thank you for the heads up. I got mine late last week as well though at a higher price if $649 sold by Amazon AU. I suppose the game purchases would be treated the same But I haven’t made any purchases yet - still trailing out the free stuff for my very first VR experience. :-) So far 😊

Just an update which may help some. For those like me who recently purchased the original oculus quest from amazon US, only to experience buyers remorse on the new cheaper Potentially better model.

I went straight to ebay and thought better sell this ASAP but then thought don’t really want to unload this on some poor sucker. I decided to contact amazon and ask for a refund even though it was used and the policy mentioned must be unopened. The guy on the phone immediately approved return and refund almost before I finished my request with no argument, but I had to pay post which came to $68. (I asked for the refund based on the oculus 1 not being good value.)

It arrived on Monday at amazon us and my money is back on the card. To top it off they also sent me an email offering to pay postage back, $50 cash and rest was amazon credit.

    Already ordered v2.😀
